My plans are possibly changing. This is such a clean ZJ that I may just sell it for a big profit then invest in a real beater ZJ. I'd almost hate to tear this one apart since it's so clean, could potentially sell it then buy a beater AND a decent DD.

Otherwise I may end up pulling the whole driveline (axles included) and stuffing them underneath my YJ temporarily so that I can get the swap legalized before I sell the rest of it. The title has to go with the body, and I need said title to get the engine swap legalized into my YJ.

After digging into this thing yesterday and most of today, I think I'll just keep it. Body may be pretty clean, but the interior is a real mess, the harness is in need of TLC, and so on and so forth. It was a good score, because I can probably make back the $ I put into it with the axles, t-case, trans, and body, but that's about it for the money.

Will probably find a cleaner one for a DD down the road.

Now I just need to muster up the courage to buy the motor mounts I need...

Started listing parts up for sale for the ZJ. Hoping to start to sell the crap out of it before I tear it apart. Probably going to be interesting getting the engine out now...

Ordered up a pair of the Advanced Adapters motor mounts for the YJ. I have this bad feeling about Novak, and I was going back and forth between the 2 for a while. Price settled it for me. Should be here by wednesday I hope, then I can finally start cutting, stripping, removing, positioning, and welding in the new engine

Also, as far as headers go, which ones do I need? i am vaguely recalling someone saying that the Ram 1500 headers will clear the steering shaft, but the grand cherokee ones will not. Wondering if aftermarket JBA headers for a Ram 1500 will work.

Center dump is the way to go for headers. This guy says the stock ones from a 5.2 van will work

http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/jeep-...m-yj-swap.html

Looks like he has the same motor mounts as I do. I can agree that center dump is better. Mine dump out in the rear of the header and the starter is definitely going to be in the way of any pipes I put on. Might have to change headers if I can't find a way around the starter.

I ordered the center dumps from Summit, apparently they're made by Patriot. Whoever the hell welded my headers must've been drunk that day too, not what I would call professional grade welds.

The way I am seeing it is I might as well get some extra juice out of it since i am going all the way with the swap.

I can't find it on my phone, just put "5.2 magnum block hugger headers" into the Google search. I'm not sure if the LA headers will fit the magnums, I don't see why they wouldn't.
