I had maybe two inches between hood and intake.

2 inches? That's like a redneck foot!

I think the stock intake and the hughes are the same heightish. Even if they don't fit, I'll make it fit...

I drove mine around for two weeks without a hood or fenders trying to work all the bugs out of it.
