been mostly working on the rust repair today, here are some pictures. Could not find a decent welder here at school so the welds are a little rough.

Why not just cut and fold the rear quarters instead of patching

for now I'm just restoring it back to stock look, when I upgrade tire size I might consider that but for now I'm just looking for a more factory appearance.

Looking nice! How do you plan to paint the door jams with the doors in place. Also why didnt you take off the door handles or rear bumper?

the main reason for not removing the handles or rear bumper is actually just time constraints. I have to have the jeep done and out of the shop by Thursday since that will be the end of this phase, (aka almost like a semester here) I have been pulling double shifts of class (550am-7pm) for a week just to get to this point I'm at. As for the door jams I masked them off with the doors on, future plans for the jeep are to actually restore the interior meaning mainly the floor. I am going to bed line the floor and at that time I will be changing the door jam color, as for right now however the biggest concern was fixing all the rust and getting it painted.

paint went on today! Turned out better than I expected. Going to let it cure overnight and start reassembling it tomorrow!

That looks awesome! Are you leaving the bumpers black?

yes the bumpers are going to stay black, along with the fender flares. for now i'm going with stock flares up front, and pre-97 bumper end caps, and rear flares painted black. These will get me by until i can afford my flat-fender bushwackers. I think the black and orange will look awesome together.
