well i just finished helping my bro install the bumper, surprisingly wasn't too hard and took about 1 1/2-2 hours of work time but ~3 hours total because we had to run to the store and get some bolts
and we'll get some pictures up tomorrow when i get my camera working again

all right all right their loading onto photobucket now and will be posted in the hour!

a little info on the bumper, Its base is the bumper back bone seen here http://www.detoursusa.com/xjbackbone.php, just a simple winch mount and d ring mounts that are super BEAF! and some one welded the 'bumper' part onto it and my bro Mike picked the whole thing up for 100 bucks, almost 1/3 of the cost of just the backbone.
And James, if you search bumper backbone on google you can find one made for a liberty too which you could possibly use as a base for a custom bumper if you wanted- just a thought.

winch bumper pics!

ok so the pics aren't that great because its parked right by the garage right now so i didnt have much room to get good a picture of it, but tomorrow i'll pull it out in the street to get a good view of how it looks as a whole with the bumper

We are thinking of cutting off the angled parts and extending the bumper straight to the end of the grill instead of angling back. Then eventually add a stinger and possibly a single small hoop on each side that mate up to the center stinger, sorta like a grill guard/ light guards

i would weld gussets from the bottom of the winch plate to the bumper just to help from that plate tearing or whatever...

the plate doesnt need it, its extremely stout, and has the strength alone and the bumper was added, its all 1/4" plate steel did you check out the link i posted with what the bumper was built off of?

Here is a winch line extension thats made from steel cable my brother got from work. Its used in cranes and stuff and is thicker than winch line.

first up, throttle body spacer, already notice better throttle response, don't know how it effects the driving but the throttle response was definitely increased, we both got one for Christmas so there's one on both his XJ and my TJ

UH OH whats this!!!!

10K champion winch with roller fair lead and snatch block from Sam's club

Mounted!

Last one showing the winch extension sitting on the winch-not mounted like that, oh and my friend Will just had to be in the pic :P

After putting it on the XJ, i'm seriously considering one for my TJ. the front of the jeep only lowered between .25" and .5"

you'll have to talk to Mike about the winch plate, if something goes wrong with the winch we are returning it to Sam's and we need all the parts.

some recent work to my tj,
got a rugged ridge recovery bag that fits in the tire carrier and conveniently holds all my recovery gear outside the jeep so i still have storage room in the jeep

I also cleaned out my throttle body because it was pretty dirty with carbon here's the clean pictures

And i also got a throttle body spacer for christmas and installed that, just from starting it up in the garage it seems like it has a crisper throttle response which is good enough for me since it was a gift anyways
