any idea what the smallest " box " would be to get some bass out of it.

i figure the sub is going to be at least 4-5" deep already with the magnet, each additional inch takes away from the length of the drawer.

measurments:

32" long ( leaving some space on the trunk end for handle , etc )

35" wide ( leaving 1/2 on each side wheel well to wheel well )

and 16" tall

those measurments for the over all " box "

the drawer, obviously will be smaller because of the 3/4 ply & how much space i actually need for the sliders on each side.

i would try and find a shallow mount 10"

you only need like .6cuft for some shallow mount's in a sealed box

but a ported will be alot nicer

im not toooo concerned about how good/bad the sub will work. i'll prob. give it an extra 2-3 " behind the magnet for space.

it's just to give my tunes that little extra something, WHEN i can hear the radio.

got the lumber cut for the main box, going to maybe start assembling tonight or tomorrow, get the main box put together, then work on the actual drawer.

after looking at the wood layed out i think imma scrap the intergrated sub box / cubby hole idear. it's really going to kill ALOT of drawer space, and having a sub vs cargo space is just not worth it.

maybe i can find a stock center console with a subwoofer already installed in it.

coming together, need to take measurments for drawer lumber, find strong slide hinges and assemble.

That should be pretty cool. One of these days i'll get around to making a box for my trunk. I like the idea of having the sub box built it. Looking good, I'll have to check it out while we're up at Rausch next weekend!

thanks, though i decided to scrap the idea of having the intergrated sub box, it'll sacrafice way to much drawer space.

though, if i had a LJ, it'd be more then enough room and work out great.

see you up @ RCrocs.

Thanks.

Couldnt find speaker fabric any where i went today, so i wound up ordering 67'x108" worth of speaker box fabric online, hopefully it'll be in fast enough for me to install.

i think im going to raptor line the inside of the drawer where all the cargo and crap will go, but i want to figure i might as well pick some other stuff to raptor line since i have 1 bottle left , and i know im not going to use the hole thing up inside the drawer.

Box is done, until i get the speaker fabric in to line the box, and i still have to raptor line the inside.

i'll probably do a test fit sometime tommorow, i know i still have to notch out a section on the drawer on the top left to clear the tail gate latch.

im pretty happy with the turn out, installed some dividers and screwed everything in perm.

did a test fit or 2 today, as expected , i had to notch out a section in order to clear the tail gate latch,

dry fit, drawer opens smoothly, gonna need some heavy anchors into the tub to keep this thing sturdy when the drawer is opened.

also, if your looking at it and thinking, ' its too high, it'll buldge out the duster, your wrong.... did a quick fit with the duster on as well and the height is PERFECT, you cant tell anything is under there, and the height matches up so good it makes the deck cover an effective shelf too if i wanted to lay something on top of it cause of the top of the box.

cant wait for that box fabric to come in to finish this up.
