so my front axle seal sprung a leak since i did the shafts and locker, i think its the seal in the vac disconnect part of the housing, i have a new one that im gonna replace tomorrow or saturday, then ill head down to the local trail and give the jeep a good beating

a good reason why you shouldnt drink and wheel... or maybe it had something to do with the 2 chicks that were in the comanche with me haha



and, today we hit up the local trail, its been quite a while since ive been there...

I'm not happy with the Firestone mud terrains performance offroad, although I'm content with 33's I think I'll end up with 35's on it before too long...

got this, and some fenders



and did a bunch of wheeling saturday and today









at some point i chewed up my driveshaft pretty good



and my serp belt started to bite the dust



i guess ill put the cummins back on DD duty at least until i replace the serp belt

I've got a couple's of pennies to throw in on the Dana 44 failure. Looking at your pictures, I'm fairly certain you had a Trac Lok carrier in there. The Aussie lockers are only designed to drop in the open carriers. The Trac Loks have that squareish end, and they also have a larger cavity to fit the clutches.

ahhh that explains a lot. i only ran that aussie for about 15 or 20 miles, i had all sorts of issues so i put the spiders and side gears back in instead..

well since im pretty much stuck at home because of hurricane sandy so i decided to pull the jeep in the garage and do some wrenching!!! i rewired the headlights with 12ga wire and new relays. i read here on the forum that it increases the brightness of your headlights. i havent had a chance to go out and see for myself yet. it took me a little over 2 hours to do the whole thing
