Yea I wasn't real happy at first... It helps when its 3am just hours before a huge wheelin event and your trying to check everything over. Literally globbed rtv over the plug and didn't have a leak for a few weeks. Going to start putting her back together tomorrow, I have a whole new fear of working with aluminum threads now

Tinkered some more...
New input seal-

New output seal-

Opted for a fully metal Crown TO bearing over the partially plastic Luk TO bearing-

New shift tower gasket and dust boot-

Shift lever installed with new pivot ball and retaining clip-

ARP flywheel bolts-

High dollar transmission jack-

Luk clutch and flywheel installed-

I hope I have good luk with this luk clutch So far so good, no leaks and smooth shifting. Time to hit the trails.

There's a few mean roofless buggy xj's out there but I wouldn't mind keeping my roof for now. To prove it I just picked up the HF 16 ton pipe bender. Going to mod it for tube, weld on frame stiffeners, weld in 2x6 rockers, fab a rear wrap around bumper, cage it, then wheel the piss out of the Jeep.

oh brother .. going to be so nice ! I been looking a lot at weight, you can strip a lot of things out, add the cage and be pretty close to stock weight, just way way stronger. Cant wait to see it .. and yes ... im with ya .. once my xj is actually up and running .. im going to give it a beating :-) ..

Can't wait for more of your Jeep updates, your build thread is one of the few I check daily. As far as the tube, it will add quite a bit of weight along with the sliders, bumpers, skids... I really haven't looked a whole lot into weight reduction, one of the best things I could do now would be finding 3.55 xj axles to help make up for the weight increase and 33's. Thanks for mentioning that, Il see if I can get the Jeep weighed before/after all the goodies.

New clutch grabs great, had to put it to the test.

Pulled front bumper and rock sliders, bumpers just getting repainted however the bolt on sliders aren't going back on.

Going to pick up metal this week.
