I believe I got the p/n from advanced adapters and all those parts are currently in use with the nv3550. No plans right now to replace the radiator unless it goes out on me then I will most likely upgrade.

Traded my truck for an 06 crf250r. Needed a bottom end rebuild so I tore it all the way down and got to work. Hopefully I will be able to finish it up by this weekend.

I also chopped my front bumper on the jeep.

8.8 spider gears decided to go boom and take the carrier with. Im either just going to replace it with another open carrier or bump up to a limited slip. This carrier only had about 30k on it before it failed so I have to try and figure out if the limited slip is any stronger.

the limited slip has smaller spiders and i believe the carrier is smaller diameter. i'd look seriously into a detroit or grizzly locker and replace the case with something that can handle the power better. install is going to be the same cost. might as well upgrade

Im doing the install so Im not worried about cost there. I did a lot of looking at detroits today. I dont see any point in the tru track but im looking more and more into the soft locker. I don't drive the jeep in the winter so Im not worried about the locker in the snow and from what I have read its really not that bad on the road. I just have to come up with the coin and I think a detroit will be in the works.

Here is some pictures of the rear end. Only one spider gear was flattened out and that side of the carrier was worn way in exposing the c clip. I got real lucky that the axle shaft didn't fall out on me.
Here is worn spider gear

Hard to tell but the worn carrier

And a here is my bike all buttoned up and ready to ride.

I can't believe I didn't know about this build!

Haha, yours is a similar path to what I want to take.

I have BDO aluminum sliders on the way & moab fab corners are on my list.

...same with GR fenders (but with a flare)

I ended up going with a ford racing posi unit with carbon discs for $215 shipped to my door. Got new timken bearings and put those on so I could put the carrier in and check backlash. With the same shims the backlash was at .009" which is on the lower end but still in spec for the 8.8. I forgot to get gear paint so I am going to pick up some of that and have a second set of eyes watch my dial indicator just to make sure I got it right and then I should be good to go.

Had an awesome weekend at the dunes. Jeep did great this weekend with the new limited slip. Drove home with no issues. I also was able to ride my bike around the dunes for a while which was a lot of fun. Looks like it is going to need a head rebuild now though the valve clearance on the intake keeps tightening up so thats about toast.
