'95 YJ Project

Couldn't think of a clever name, can't remember if I ever posted here under another name, but here goes.

Picked up this '95 YJ in July 2015. 105k. Came from California, 2 owners, 2.5L, 5 speed, cost me 5k.

Started "restoring" it over the summer, replacing parts because I didn't know what the PO had done.

Swapped out the spark plugs, cleaned out the air filter, changed the oil, put in some of that injector cleaner.

Repainted the front bumper, pulled out the back seat and put in a locking trunk, bought some new mats and a steering wheel cover.

Had to go back to school, so I called it done for a while.

Repainted the mirrors with some Rustoleum bedliner, used the same stuff on the hardtop.

Installed a new steering stabilizer, and some stickers.

Installed LED gauges, this is where I started to go overboard and decided to spend all kinds of money on the Jeep. Time came for state inspection, she failed because the front brakes were non-existent.

Put on new rotors, new front brake pads, new rear brake shoes.

Installed a new O2 sensor, that fixed the CEL.

Installed new spark plug wires, new cap & rotor, new ignition coil.

New weatherstripping on the doors, I bought some POR 15 and spent a weekend lining the chassis & underside of the tub.

Bought some duplicolor interior paint, repainted the dash, repainted the door panels, hit the steering wheel while I was at it...

I noticed I had some sludge on my intake manifold, tracked it to my valve cover gasket, replaced that, painted the valve cover with some of duplicolor's engine enamel.

Installed a new fuel filter...later discovered the one on there was practically brand new...

Bought & installed new seats from Quadratec, Smittybilt Black Vinyl, they're $99 on Quadratec right now.

That's it for now, I'm nearing the end of the restoration, and it makes me sad. I've had a lot of fun in 7 months making this jeep my own, and there's still more to come.

Tomorrow I have monstaliner coming in the mail.
