I figured the frame is the foundation and really only wanted to the majority, once....I also tend to overdo things.

Just out of curiosity if you have a inch between the frame, how much room is between the shock and the tire at ride height?

i cant quite fit three fingers between the shock and the tire, but my shock isn't mounted perfectly vertical like yours, mine are angled forward a bit to keep it out of the way of the tire

I was too excited, I couldn't wait!! Here is what I did tonight. I finished the hoop on the drivers side and then did some flex tests to see where I have clearance issues. I really think I will be alright once I get the 11/2" wheel spacers. The guy who helped me with my SYE kit has a junked jeep with them on so I got them for $50. He is supposed to have them off tomorrow.

After that whole pictorial and writeup of how to copy the marks from one hoop to the other and the flippin motor mounts are not exactly across from each other. I cut the hoop and then realized it....good thing I always cut long. I never thought of checking, I guess that's what I get for assuming.

Finally I pulled the fender flares...just to see if they were at all salvageable. And to my surprise they were easily adaptable. I had already trimmed that bottom lip off of them. I took the passenger side one and put it on the drivers side and it it was almost perfect! I trimmed off part of the lip on the back and made a few other relief cuts and within 10 minutes...well you can see how it looks...What do you guys think?

sorry guys my puter is being stupid and I have to go to bed its 4am. Goodnight and I'll post pics tomorrow. Man, I honestly don't know if I can sleep! I am just so excited that all my planning is actually working out. I have thought many times that this thing my never drive again and if it does it might dog track or something. I really don't have a clue what I am doing. I have built and worked on many things and many vehicles but this is a new one for me. Next maybe Ill tackle that huge project sitting in the corner...the 1974 Honda Z50...it runs, Ive had it for years, saying Ill always restore it someday.

Oh just some numbers for you. I love numbers. Each tire comes off the ground 24" or more before another tire comes off the ground. I checked all four corners. The bottom of skid plate (if I had one, its on the list) went from 9" to 25"! That is significant. The wheel base went from 95 to 102. Give or take a little, I didn't have anyone to hold the other end of the tape.

One thing I never mentioned..When I came up with my build, I built adjustability in it. The wheelbase can be shorten by 6" by turning the leaf springs around and then the perches have the three holes for adjustability. I have mine in the middle. I can make it narrower by 3 inches with the wheel spacers. The height is a little more difficult but I can remove leafs and change shackle lengths.

Flex monster! Looks great.

I know the feeling, "what have I done" "I wonder what scrap price is" I hope I get to where you are some day, where it could actually roll out of the garage on its own.

Just got done talking to Kimmer and he got the spacers off...2 are 2" and the other 2 are 1 1/2" so the 2" will go on the back and will make up for the slightly narrower 8.8 and give more than enough room for the shocks..

I haven't had problems until last night and it keeps telling me its the Jeep forum that is having the problem...I will try at work and if that doesn't work, then I will try something different!

That should work nicely.

Here is the picture of the fender flare.

I didnt do anything in the garage today. My head was cloudy again, I barely made it to work. Maybe after work I will get an hour or two in.
