I came up with a list last night. I broke the list into 3hr jobs. I can work for about 3 hours a night....anymore than that and I get burnt out. I feel like I am working two jobs. 13 things on the list....thats unlucky so I finished the motor mounts and brought it down to 12.

After I lifted the motor, the motor mount that is attatched to the frame needed to be trimmed so I grabbed the sawzall and made some room.

After the motor mount was trimmed, I started working on the tranny mount. I have it figured out and mostly fabbed but I forgot to take pictures. I have made the decision that I am going to hard mount the tranny to the xmemeber and hopefully the bushings will take up the slack. If not, I will be looking for a new tranny. I think it will be fine. I will take pics tonight.

Its been a while since I was on here. Life has kind of gotten in the way. My mom had a problem with her car that ended up being catastophic. This isnt a Mazda forum so I wont go into details but I did have a picture of Maggie in the JY with me. She was talking when I took the picture.

Last night I did get back to it. My doors and rollcage and hardtop where all close to lining up but where still far enough away to be a concern. I have all except the front two body mounts tightened down, my batteries died before I could get the hole drilled completely through. The passenger door and roll bars all lined up perfect....the drivers door still wouldnt even close. You can see from the picture that I took a ratchet trap and pulled it back to where it needs to be and a touch further....then I took a hammer a tapped on the floor boards and the rockers, to try and release any of the tension in the metal. I left the strap on over night and I will check it tonight to see where I am but I am crossing my fingers that this works. It will be a major hurdle crossed.

It worked!!! I released the strap and it popped back a little. Tightened the door hinges and it closed right up. It did create one more problem, Ill get some pics and post the damage.

The first two pictures are of where the metal caved in from the pressure of pulling the cowl back....I really dont care, I have been thinking of just clearing it the way it is, kind of rat rodish.

2 STEPS FORWARD, 1 STEP BACK. I had one more body mount to drill and bolt. They didnt look right and the bottom seemed to be trying to squish out. I decided to take a look at the directions one more time, just to make sure it was all correct. Dont let the guy with a recent brain injury work on your Jeep! I put the body mounts in upside down. You wouldnt think it would make much of a difference, it only raised the jeep another 1/4". Now the mounts sit straight and everything looks good. So I spent most of the night, flipping all the body mounts.

After that I was just looking for something to tinker with, so I bolted in the back seat and some of the seat belts. I also figured out where to mount the tranny's brain. It will be hidden nicely by the XJ center counsel. Every little bit makes it closer to getting out of the garage.

Thank you!! I have been watching your build also....sucks to hear about the motor mounts. I find if I dont have a time limit, I dont get anything done. Keep up the good work!

I got the front passenger fender on. I had to cut out most of the inner fender to fit around the shock hoop. I also found a bunch of bondo on the fender but it really wont matter cause I will have to cut the bottom off anyway because of the boatsides. Sorry about the of pictures. I will try and remember to get some more. I also got the gas tank back out so I can do the gas tank mod and I have to trim part of the tub to make room for the tank.

I was really busy at work today so this is going to be really short. The first pic is of what is in my way for the gas tank. Last night I got the drivers side fender on. The pile is getting smaller. I could fit 4 wranglers in my garage! I double and triple checked my angles and tacked the perches in place....Im still going to take it around the block before I burn everything in. How the jeep sat as of last night

Yeah I still need to take a couple leafs out, so that will lower it some, but for around here there is a lot of mud so it has to be a little taller.

I do plan on cutting the tub some more....I dont know exactly what I am going to do for that, but I want to try an leave as much tub as I can.

Yeah I had walmart mount and balance them....free balancing for life so I am sure I will take that one in and get it fixed...I still have the spare that I can rotate in also.

Just a couple random pics. A baby hawk sitting on the bike rack at work.

The newest Jeep to the family. The batteries didnt work so I had to mod it a little. Maggie loves it so much, she hasnt allowed the kids to ride it! LOL

Last weekend when we went camping Anna caught her first fish. By the end of the day, she was baiting her own hook and taking the fish off the hook, as long as they didnt swallow the hook. And yes that is a fishing pole made out of a 20oz soda bottle. You could even cast it!
