Looks very nice. I wish I could pull my jeep in the garage and just build it up.

thanks, a little update.... so the heads ended up being warped from awhile back and that caused to engine to sieze up and all that good stuff so we went and grabbed another lq4 and pulled mine out and put this one in its place

im hoping to have it up and running by sunday again. it took thursday night to get the old one out and tonight to get the new one in. all thats left is some wiring, reattach the grille and bolt the trans back up

not exactly sure but I think it is a mixture of a weak spot on the block and the engine being hydrolocked... I pulled the upper intake and the rear right side "hole/lower intake" was filled with gas, so when the starter cranked it caused some major havoc

maybe its the shadows on the weld but it looks like you have some porosity in a few spots and you definitely have it in the crater. Just a heads up! trans and t case are you running?

I think maybe if I move slower and turn the gas down a bit it should help... maybe?

Today we solved the mystery of the exploding v8s.... We were sitting thinking about what the engines had in common. The only thing I used on both was the intake... So we wired it up on it's own and put fuel through it and sure enough when the fuel pump did its 2 second prime fuel came shooting out of the first injector. Both engines were hydrolocked by a single bad injector. Not gonna lie I feel really ****in stupid right now lol. Such a cheap little part and it killed 2 great engines. The first one being almost brand new.

not necessarily slower just have your stickout less(put the nozzle closer) in the garage i usually have the nozzle around 1/4 maybe a little more from the piece im working on.that sucks about motors! how much did you stretch it and did you mover the mounts or do the spring style? maybe i missed it..
