will it looks to be another sunny day in california,(i saw it snowing back east on the news today, hee hee,) To drive this thing all i have to do is install the drivelines and bleed the rear brakes. I still need to paint the fender and door, install hand throttle, make some sliders, etc, but they can wait. the new rear cv shaft does seem small but it came wth the donner veh so it will work for now. Ill upgrade later and kep this one as a trail spare.

there is a trail a mile from me and it has a spot that drops in and out of a small ravine. Before i upgraded everything one of my front and the oppissite real wheel would spin, and id have to make 3 attempts to get out. now i just idled rite up and out , what a difference! The bad is if i put it in 4X4 with out posilocing the front diff it almost does a left turn when i gas it.Thats because the assuie is locking up the left wheel and the rite is just rolling free.ITs fine When both are locked in. I thought i could drive it around safly in 2 low but not the case. if i had an open front diff i guess it would work. The ride is a lot softer now to,Must have something to do with the 6" shackels?

by extending your fixed mount for the springs on the front did that mess with you caster angle any? i guess adding the longer shackles could have offset that though. just thought i'd ask.

The caster stayed the same. Thats the advantage of doing it that way, but time will tell if it puts to much stress on the frame? I only drove it once and at first was discourged. Im hopefull that the tie rod flip will correct it. I have to drill out the tapered holes in the knockle to 3/4" and put in the new inserts so the taper is on the top of the knuckle. then flip the tie rod to the top.It looks like ill have to drill out the tie rod where the drag link connects and the stering stablizer. so i need 4 inserts. the inserts are $9 each, if you dont have a 3/4 drill bit its another $38. If this doesnt correct it then i can get a high steer Knuckle for a little under $400 ,yikes!

The 3/4 bit was to big ,If anbody does the inserts do a test hole on some scrape metal and try the insert first ( must be a tight fit)

I pounded in the inserts, cut some metal off the track bar lower support to clear the tie rod and stering stabelizer. I then put grade 8 washers under the nuts per scotty 4x4.

I did a test drive and it worked great, no more bump steer!

I put the hard top on just in time. It started raining as i was bolting down. I hope it quits by Thursday for the pismo trip. I have two diff color doors . the black doesnt look to bad but ill have to match the red on sooner or later. The door came off a 89 but it fit ok. It was bare so i had to get a mirror, door handle window crank from 4wheelparts supply. I temporarily made a inside door panel out of some paneling .

Today i put the hand throttle in. It was pretty easy. I did go with a piece of chain from the end of the cable to the throttle lever. When i went str8 to the lever without it the cable i didn't like the way it bent back when i used the foot pedal. It also had a tendency to push the cable sheath out of the adjuster.

I started to work on the front bumper. I'm going to cut it down, add some recovery shackles , and a winch plate, and some kind of a bar above the bumper

I finished the front bumper and got it mountrd up, It came out pretty good , but im sure thats a matter of opinion. I just cant see blowing a few hundred on a bumper. the stock bumper seems stout enough if you add some support.

I cut it down , boxed it in , bent a hoop, and welded it up

Very impressive!!!! I never thought about doing that to a stock front bumper. Also impressed that you made such a nice bar using the Harbor Freight bender!
