had to cancel the rubicon trip, but i did do a little to the jeep. i had broke the weld on the rear swing out do to the latch being a poor design and allowing the bar to move up and down until it broke. i rewelded it and added a bolt to keep it from moving. its a little harder to get it open now but its solid. i also traded my hard top and doors for a soft top and half doors. the doors came with 2 types of windows ,slider and regular.

i will have to paint the doors since there blue. it looks better that the donner jeep with red doors on a blue jeep tho.

i also repaired my cb antenna, it pulled out of the spring mount and broke the copper wire going up the mast.

WOW! it took a while but I made it through this thread. So much info and lots of inspiration for my 87 yj.
I have a feeling I will be making a few stops back here for reference.
We share a similar trait, I'm cheap too. (maybe watching Jack Benny as a kid had something to do with it ) Since there is no work around here I've been doing most modes with stuff around the house and I'm sure glad I have been collecting steel off of job sites that was headed to the scrap pile.

Great job and nice looking jeep.

its been so long since i started the build that you probably know more than i do about my jeep. i quess i better go back and read through it. its fun having a bad memory, you can experience the same thing for the first time more than once. today i got home and my son wasnt here and i started to get mad at him for not leaving a message as to his location. i called his mom at work to see if she had heard from him and she told me that i was supposed to pick him up after school! now where are my jeep keys and where did i park it?

ill try to find one of them on the jeep. i havnt downloaded pics of the snow run yet.

there almost wore out and i think the rims are only 7" wide. but i think i wont be popping as many beads

your hollister trip looked fun. i was torn on what to do last weekend:

1) holister

2) poker turny in tahoe

3)uncle toms snow run

i went with # 3 for time frame, money, and old friends been asking me to wheel with them for a while now.
