today i started working on a few little things like grinding down the stops so i could get a little more turning radius. i was able to get a little more out of it before the tires would rub on the springs. i was going to adjust my steering wheel as well . i put a string all the way around the jeep to get the tires str8 ,when i noticed the driver side rear tire wasnt parralell. the rear passenger wasnt bad. and i noticed i had toe out instead of toe in on the front tires. it appears as tho the rear rc springs arnt the same distance from the spring pin to the spring eye. one is about 3/8 to a 1/2" different. that might explain some of the rear steer i have been having. im not sure what do about it. maybe swap the pass to the driver side and see if that helps.

Could one of the springs be flipped around. I know the springs should be the same both ways but maybe the rc's have a front and rear of the spring.

Today im starting to build a rear bumper with swing out tire carrier, and rack with gas and water cans. The challenge is to use the scrap and junk i have been hording. I found some 3x3x 1/4" square stock, a couple ladder racks, amd an old trailer axle. Now to make them work.

heres the specs im using

For a bumper 58" long. Center the hole for the pivot approx 7.25" from the passenger end. use a 2.75" diameter pivot tube and make the arm about 41" long. If you use a smaller tube for the pivot, you'll want to lengthen the arm a bit to make up for the difference.
now give or take some depending upon the length of the bumper

today i didnt make much headway. the hub im using was a real pain to cut out of the brake drum. its almost an inch thick,so my torch wouldnt cut it. i had to grind it out. it took a least two hours! it is beefy tho.
im thinking of using the old tire carrier and mount it to some framework.
