naa thanks for the offer by the time im ready for new tires i will be ready for my 33s rite now i could throw 33s on there but i have enough issues with the 31s not having low enough gearing let alone 33s but thanks man

today i started working on a few little things like grinding down the stops so i could get a little more turning radius. i was able to get a little more out of it before the tires would rub on the springs. i was going to adjust my steering wheel as well . i put a string all the way around the jeep to get the tires str8 ,when i noticed the driver side rear tire wasnt parralell. the rear passenger wasnt bad. and i noticed i had toe out instead of toe in on the front tires. it appears as tho the rear rc springs arnt the same distance from the spring pin to the spring eye. one is about 3/8 to a 1/2" different. that might explain some of the rear steer i have been having. im not sure what do about it. maybe swap the pass to the driver side and see if that helps.

Could one of the springs be flipped around. I know the springs should be the same both ways but maybe the rc's have a front and rear of the spring.

if i remember right doesnt the side that goes to the fixed sping hanger have a bigger eye than the shackle side?

Today im starting to build a rear bumper with swing out tire carrier, and rack with gas and water cans. The challenge is to use the scrap and junk i have been hording. I found some 3x3x 1/4" square stock, a couple ladder racks,amd an old trailer axle. Now to make them work.

I removed the old bumper and started with the bumper.

i still have to work out the spare height and rack height. also where to put to pivot point on the bumper.

heres the specs im using

For a bumper 58" long. Center the hole for the pivot approx 7.25" from the passenger end. use a 2.75" diameter pivot tube and make the arm about 41" long. If you use a smaller tube for the pivot, you'll want to lengthen the arm a bit to make up for the difference.
now give or take some depending upon the length of the bumper

so that would be like 6.25" anywho hurry up and get it done so i can see some pics

real quick question though that i havnt figured out yet for myself how did you mount it to the factory plate im trying to decide if i want to weld some brackets on the back and drill it or bolt it on or just weld it i cant decide

today i didnt make much headway. the hub im using was a real pain to cut out of the brake drum. its almost an inch thick,so my torch wouldnt cut it. i had to grind it out. it took a least two hours! it is beefy tho.
im thinking of using the old tire carrier and mount it to some framework.

did you buy a bearing kit and spindle for that or what and what kind of latch are you planning on running???
