91xj 4 door "Luna"

i am kinda starting to get into my build and before i forget too much of what ive done i figure id start up a build thread. she started off as a blue 91 xj that i bought off my uncle for $700 with 200,xxx miles on her. 6 cylinder HO with the ax15 manual trans. i origionally planned to do a small lift and 31's and use her for offroading. did the lift, got the tires and had fun offroading. after about a year and a half the trans synchronizers went out and i moved to the mountains so i got a 2000 tj. tried for a while to sell the xj but people either wanted to give me way lower then what i was asking or they wanted a reliable vehicle and i couldnt sell her as that because of the trans and a few other little things. i tried to sell her twice over about a 6 month period but it was the same thing every time. so, i decided to make her into a trail going rig. i have a basement to work in which is nice and i have a neighbor with tons of tools that he lets me use.

list of things to do:
lift 6.5 inches
upgrade axles
35's
bedline inside
cut off roof
roll cage
tube fenders
sand and paint
whatever else pops into my head that i can afford

this is a pic of when i first got her, already took her through the mud. stock with saggy springs, 14" wheels and bald tires

alot of my early pics were on my old computer that killed itsself so i have lost the pics

i have more pics to put up. ill do it sometime when i have more energy. this is just to get things started

EDIT: decided to go with a 4.5 inch lift insted of 6.5 also if anyone sees anything that you would like more infor about or anything just say somethin...

It would be cooler to do everthing on you list without the 6.5 inch lift.

allllright heres some more pics. this is after i had it a while. i think i had the 3.5" RC lift on in all of these. put on some fog lights on the front bumper. i think thats about all that was done by this point. some of the pics have larger tires, which i have for sale, and some have the smaller tires that it came with, by this point i had my Tj and my 31's were on it. oh yea i had also taken the orange emblems off the sides and took the turtle off the top.

ok finished up the roll cage and cut the top off last night
front cut

moving back

used boards to prop up roof while cutting

slid the roof off. that thing is heavy and akward to move by yourself

left big holes. need to cap them

cut out cardboard to fit holes then transfered onto old hood i had

then cut them out

gap at front
