Did a lil bit of work this weekend while staying at my dads, took the weird pink side gas can holder off and the plastic on the front bumper off too. Buffed it out... kinda, cleaned the battery terminals and the wires, amazing that a dead battery starts right up after that, haha [IMG][/IMG]

I know there's not much I'm doing for the Jeep when I do work on it, but parents say i can't work during the school year .... And i spent all my money on buying the Jeep and the hardtop, but I do have a question or 2 cuz I think I might change paths a little bit.
I'm going to the junkyard to get prices for bigger springs (f-150 f-250) something like that, I'll be getting bigger shackles and perches, but I don't think I will go the full spring over axle lift..... At least not until my mind says It needs to be bigger But here's my question; When i do go get bigger, heavier duty springs, what would be the best junkyard large truck find? And also, would i need to change anything other than the shackles and perches?? Also, how much lift would all that give me with springs and shackles(with about 1 1/2-2in bigger shackles)?? Thank you

Shackle lift is halved.
Standard YJ shackles are 4"
If you get 5" shackles, you get half an inch lift.

As far as leaf springs, they have a chart on many threads here with leaf spring lengths and where the pin is from each side.
Plus how much lift over stock on some.

So your saying I'd half to get about 6 or 7 inch shackles to get another inch or inch-and-a-half lift??

Yes.
If all you want is an inch or so.
Be better to do a 1" body lift.
IMHO, wouldn't go more than 6" shackles.

Normally, no.
But honestly, most 1" body lifts don't.
But once in a while, though rarely, you might need to use a hammer to make a little clearance.

If you are gonna do a 1 inch body lift click on the link below and go with that. it replaces all of your body mounts (which most likely need replacing anyways but may not) with new mounts that are 1 in taller. It also comes with the hardware needed.

Does anybody have a pair of hard doors they would like to sell to me? Wanna trade? I've got a Miniature Dachshund Purebred ***** Or a Chevy 350 4 Bolt Main out of an RV, only 48,000 miles and ran on propane the whole time
