91 YJ SLOOOOW Build

Hello, I have recently bought a YJ from Corona California and I have been wanting to get a Jeep to build up so I found this one while visiting family, and picked her up for $2300. Luckily I got a bone stock one to build up instead of finding, "surprises" around every corner, It has the 2.5 Lt. fuel injected with a manual AX-5 Transmission. Sadly, I live on the Oregon Coast and haven't had any good weather to be able to do anything with it since I brought it back the 1200 miles from nice, sunny, California [IMG][/IMG] So if this picture thing worked, here it is where I bought it. I am kinda new here on this Forum, but have been pouring over all the amazing jeeps and transformations that I see on here Any and All help is quite welcome, also suggestions are greatly appreciated

The pics need to be hosted on an internet site, like photobucket etc, not just on your PC's hard drive or a thumb drive.

Suggestions? Think most will agree that you need to figure out exactly what you want to do with it.
The bigger the tire the more involved.
Tell us what you want the YJ to do, and then we can go from there.

Good Luck with your '91, I Love mine.

Haha, thanks Joe and I think the biggest mod would be a lift, i wanna do a proper SOA lift and get some shocks after that if I need them?? Then the axles; I was just thinkin of Dana's 44 and 60 because I've heard they have good success in bigger trucks so I figured that have good success in a light lil jeep?? Probably go with 4.56 gear ratio?? I don't plan on changin out the engine or t-case, but from what I've heard about the AX-5 is that it has a bad rep, so I'd be changin that out for something better, maybe an AX-15?? All i need is the bell housing and other sorts of parts off of a Dodge tranny with a 4cyl if I'm not mistaken, What do you guys think??

If at all possible and you are going to swap front & rear axles, swap axles & do the SOA at the same time, especially if you're increasing the tire size to 35+.

This way, you're doing the steering, drive shaft work, potential wheelbase stretch, shock mounts, brake adaption, breathers, gears/lockers & driveline angles once.

So we spontaniously took a trip to Reno.... Without my Jeep But Thursday I was able to take the spare tire and tire carrier off and tried to clean it out the best I could and bagged up the back open windows with big black trash bags... But the wind claimed those, I'll post up some pics when I get back, since now I know how Thanks Joe

So I went out and found a hard top Saturday for $300, doesn't come with a back window, but it was still a pretty good deal [IMG][/IMG]

Rewind a few days;
My dad brought tires and a towing hitch over from the ranch where my cherokee used to be (when I had it) tires are brand new wrangler gt's about 31 inch with maybe 80 miles on them, hitch is tested at 4,000 lbs pulling capacity... My question is.. can I put this hitch on my YJ?? Or is that a no no??
here's some more pics of the jeep, sorry that I dont have a pic of the hitch
