made myself a CB antenna mount today. i still need to run the antenna wire to it. i think its plenty strong on the bumper with those bolts

replaced the passenger side ball joints. talk about a PITA. the autozone press sucked to i had to grind the top of the lower ball joint off, this after hitting it with an oxy-acetylene torch multiple times, and pound it out with a BFH. the rest wasnt too bad. i will be looking for a good press tomorrow that is more complete. broke my 1/2" drive socket wrench as well while trying to get the 36mm hub nut off



so i had to go buy a 3/4 drive breaker bar and use some 2' long pipe on the end of that to break that nut loose

Wrench looks like a Craftsman. . . Time for a Sears trip to get a free new one!!!

thats exactly what i did when i bought the 3/4" breaker bar. i figured if it broke, so would a wrench just like it. had to go bigger.

well i finally got around to replacing my ball joints. what a PITA. i hope i dont have to do that for a long long time. but my camber issue is fixed so all is well.

well a few weeks ago i picked up a 29 spline 8.25 for $100 from a 98 XJ since my rear end looks like this:




so i cleaned up the 8.25 and got some new u-bolts.


all i need is the hard brake line that goes across the top of the axle from drum to drum. i think the D35 one will work fine though

i also got some hella 500's waiting to be put on too. i still need to put on the SYE as well. im way behind. haha

What's up with the lean dude? Your rig has come a long way. Still looking clean as ever. Didn't you win COTM back when they had separate stock and modified classes?

im not sure about the lean. its bugging me though. i think i might try and loosen all the bolts in hopes i accidentally tightened some without the weight of the XJ on the suspension when i installed it. if that doesnt work, i think i might give RE a call. yeah i won the last stocker class COTM before they made it one class as it is right now.

and thanks for the compliments. still more ahead in the future.

I love your XJ man. Good work on everything. I used to have a ZJ on 4.5 inches and 31's and thought it looked fine. A lot of people thought I had 33's. I would keep the 31's and when they wear down maybe buy another set of 31's. You wouldnt have to worry aboout rubbing or anything. Keep up the good work.

i now know how you feel, i dont have 31's. . they are the stock 235/75 r-15's which is roughly 29''. i am planning on 33's and possibly eventually 35's on down the road. but thank you for the kind words good sir

also got my DPG adjustable bumptop plates in today. these things are BEEFY. the box they were shipped in weighed 17lbs! so hopefully next week i can knock out the SYE, axle swap, try switching the leafs to figure out this lean i got, and install some hellas.

so i bolted up the 8.25 last night. no bit deal except two things, my D35 driveshaft is too long, even with a lift, and the E-brake cables on the 8.25 are way different than mine. pics to come soon
