replaced the passenger side ball joints. talk about a PITA. the autozone press sucked to i had to grind the top of the lower ball joint off, this after hitting it with an oxy-acetylene torch multiple times, and pound it out with a BFH. the rest wasnt too bad. i will be looking for a good press tomorrow that is more complete. broke my 1/2" drive socket wrench as well while trying to get the 36mm hub nut off

so i had to go buy a 3/4 drive breaker bar and use some 2' long pipe on the end of that to break that nut loose

well a few weeks ago i picked up a 29 spline 8.25 for $100 from a 98 XJ since my rear end looks like this:

so i cleaned up the 8.25 and got some new u-bolts.

all i need is the hard brake line that goes across the top of the axle from drum to drum. i think the D35 one will work fine though

i also got some hella 500's waiting to be put on too. i still need to put on the SYE as well. im way behind. haha

What's up with the lean dude? Your rig has come a long way. Still looking clean as ever. Didn't you win COTM back when they had separate stock and modified classes?

im not sure about the lean. its bugging me though. i think i might try and loosen all the bolts in hopes i accidentally tightened some without the weight of the XJ on the suspension when i installed it. if that doesnt work, i think i might give RE a call. yeah i won the last stocker class COTM before they made it one class as it is right now.

and thanks for the compliments. still more ahead in the future.

I love your XJ man. Good work on everything. I used to have a ZJ on 4.5 inches and 31's and thought it looked fine. A lot of people thought I had 33's. I would keep the 31's and when they wear down maybe buy another set of 31's. You wouldnt have to worry aboout rubbing or anything. Keep up the good work.

so i bolted up the 8.25 last night. no bit deal except two things, my D35 driveshaft is too long, even with a lift, and the E-brake cables on the 8.25 are way different than mine. pics to come soon
