Sorry I'm so late but I LOVE them. I haven't put my full doors on since I built the half doors. You will not regret it. And yes they are a lot more work than they seem but it's well worth it.

Completely stock, and keeping it that way...

Ha I knew someone would say something. I only did it in that picture. Definitely don't do that while moving.

Speaking of sliders, is that 2x4 rockers? Thats my next project but I keep going back and forth on 2x4 with rail or just 2x6.

Looking great by the way, this is one of the first builds I read when I became a member on here, as much as Ive creeped around in here, Im shocked Ive never actually commented. Great work, man!

Thanks man. They are 2x6. I'd go with that size. Even that didn't stick out very far which is why I added the bar. But for a clean look 2x6 alone would be perfect IMO. I also went one step further and went up to the door sills while I was at it. Couple hours more work but worth the reward. Just have to cut the doors though

Perfect! Just the kinda info I was looking for, thank you. I need to do some more research on going up into the door sills as far as the door trimming part is concerned. Im open to do anything if I have a decent grasp of what Im getting into.

You'll have to cut about 1.5" off the bottom of the doors. Ericsxj did a good write up on it. You will have an opening on the bottom of the door which will need to be addressed eventually. I haven't because I never really have bad enough weather. This doesn't effect any functionality of the door in any way.

if I were going to do it again, I would do 2x4 and space it even with the door, then add the tube like he did.

the 2x6 fills the whole gap, but since I didn't weld the back side anyway, it would have saved some weight.

and yes, raise them up and trim the door, I didn't and I get hung up on mine.

I do plan on cutting mine off and re-doing them like that, but its pretty low on the list.

Nothing much going on with the XJ. Got some cool stuff for Xmas for it though. A JCR DIY front bumper with a few add-ons, a Baja designs 20" led light bar, a pair of rigid dually led lights and some new deflators. Bumper should ship in the next few days

So for Christmas I got a jcr DIY front bumper and a 20" led light bar. I had been chipping away at the bumper for a few weeks. I also bought a set of led cubes. I just got it all installed and wired yesterday. I'm really stoked with how it all turned out
