it actually wasnt that loud. i was on the loud pedal when it happened and when i heard and felt grinding i knew it was time to let off.

yup. thats because a rock was jammed up there and i had no power to the wheels so i had to be yanked off. dented the frame a little too.

here, on something i have made numerous times

this was actually seconds before it happened. what makes me mad is that i made way harder lines throughout both days and i break on something "easy" with only half hour left in the day.

custom. probably something frame rail to frame rail tied into the trans crossmember.

Have you thought about building something out of 2x4 tubing with a hoop welded on the back side like the JKS XJ tcase skids? I'm thinking about building one like this for my MJ.

i have seen those before. a few things have me thinking though. i dont know how easy/hard it would be to unbolt the front d-shaft with that. plus i was thinking of doing rail to rail for strength. plus i was almost thinking of going further back with the skid almost to the front leaf spring hanger. that might be excessive though.

got bored today. i had a door laying around and...



this was mainly an experiment. i probably would have cut a little lower but i think it still looks good. im gonna finish the driver door up and put it on to see how i like it.
