SWEEET! Got the drivers side rear quarter trimmed up! Al the hared fender cutting is done! The rest when i get tires and lift should be pretty easy.

Here is the line I foolowed for cutting out the quarter. Used a Dye Grinder and started Cutting. I followed the taped line and then once that was established I cut on around the inside.

In the second picture i left enough of the inside sheet metal so I could poound it flat and use it as a welding surface.

On the 3rd Pic you can see the cover for my gas lines. I was able to cut it up with the dye grinder and "massaged" it into place so i could keep the access point usable. Then i just used some self tapping screws to finish it off.

And on the last pic it is all done and primed! Ready for some seam seal!

Here are some pictures of progression!

Should Have the whole Powertrain ready to be swapped into my jeep by the first of the year! Pretty excited to have a reliable power train back the jeep. The current 4.0 has 230,000 miles and needless to say burns a lot of oil and does not have much pep!

what all did you have done with the rebuild and about how much did it run you if you dont mind me asking. my motor has 330,000 miles on it and I am in need of a rebuild, but I'm on a college budget.

The Motor is a 4.0L srtaight 6. Took it to the machine shop where they did a valve job on the head, Bored the block .030 over, turned the crankshaft rod and main journals. Purchased a "rebuild Kit" specific for the oversize bore that came with the correct size pistons, new rings, timing chain, oil pump, all new gaskets through the whole motor. Had to purchase seperately a water pump, spark plug and wires, Distributor cap and rotor, and thermostat.

I am into the motor about $1100.00. That does not include the paint i purchased to make it look PURTY!

Keep in mind I have done all the work my self. Just to pull and replace a motor costs about 8 hours at $80.00 dollars and hour. To reasemble the motor your looking at about an additional 4-6 hours at the same price. So the cost for labor on a job like this is around $1100.00 as well.

If you can do the work yourself and be without a motor for a while you save BIG! Good Luck

Here are a few pics of the finshed motor before I put it in!

Have not posted anything forever! Got the Motor I rebuilt stuffed in last year and Due to the old wiring on an 87' jeep cherokee I have had all sorts of issues keeping it running. Knock on wood I do believe I have all the issues dealt with and she has been running good with no issues until two weeks ago when the transmission went out. The AW4 is currently getting a rebuild and purchased an oversized tranny cooler and bigger lines to go with it! Have done a lot of little things-Cut fenders, warrior product roof rack, A 3 1/2" tuff country lift and new heavy duty rear leafs to hold me over Until I can save up for my 4 1/2" long arm from Clayton Off Road!

Purchased LED bulbs that work in the 1157 and 1057 sockets, they were around $18.00 dollars each but I should not have to replace bulbs anytime soon!!!

Here is the current state; 3 1/2 inch tuff country lift ( needed something to hold me over until I can afford the Clayton off road lift), Warrior products Roof rack, Led lights all the way around, Rebuilt 1990 4.0L bored 3000ths over, Replaced almost every sensor known to man on the motor, Currently having the tranny rebuilt by Jaspers and will be upgrading the tranny cooling system. Obviously not going to have this baby Rubicon Ready since my two year dead line is next month but I am definately going to keep chipping away!

Here are some pics after the lift!

Now I need some bigger tires!
