I'm using that next time I need to weigh a vehicle.

Pretty good for having an iron block V8 in the front. When I get my spare tire mounted, it will be close to 50/50
Man that'll be really nice in the trails! Seems like things worked out well for you!

Thanks. I have a few things left before it will be dialed in. Top of the list is
Tires
Rear coil overs
EFI
Too bad the Jeep fund is empty. I hope Santa Claus is good to me this year.

My std bikini top wont fit the new cage. The last couple of days have been sunny but a little breezy with the SpyderShade. Picked up a Sh@@ybuilt full length bikini top today from 4WD Hardware. 50 bucks I thought was a pretty good price. Should work well with the windjammer and soft doors

I really like the way this bikini top fits. Nice straps, Velcro and fabric. Got the channel for it mounted and put the windshield wiper motor back in finally. I cut 2 slits in the back of my windjammer, underneath the flap. This allows me to run the windjammer between my seats and the shoulder harness bar. The slits are for my shoulder belts to pass through. Much cleaner this way.

Happy Holidays everyone.
Starting to feel the pressure of getting the Jeep ready to go cross country. Lots to do.
Google says it will be 1750 miles from my house to Phoenix. I'm thinking 4 days, 550 bucks in gas and a 1 day layover on Las Cruses, NM.
My wife and friends all think I am crazy and let's face it. This trip is gonna hurt. Just hope the Jeep makes it in one piece.
Can't wait to get new tires and load up the Jeep to have it weighed.

Any chance you can wheel on the 15th?

So, I have been hating my Trans tunnel cover. I ways back a talked about how difficult it was to work with the 6061 I cut out of my corner guards. I paid someone to heat and bend it and they did a poor job. So I decided to make a new one out of some 3/16 sheet that I had left over. I first put a piece of card board inside the hole so that I could get a template of the curve.

I couldn't find anything laying around that matched the curve so I decided to make a trough to pound the metal into. I traced the curve onto some 2x4 that I had leftover from the train table I built for my son. I had enough to cut 4 out with a jig saw

I screwed the 4 pieces together and used a scrap piece to give me some additional width for the metal to lay on

Getting the curve close. I used a small MAP gas torch to help heat things up.
