Here is the new 8 pt cage consisting of a lengthened PSC YJ cage. Custom seat sub frame and an added bar behind the rear seat and fuel cell. I still have to add mounting points for seat belts and a high lift. Trail Gear makes a nice one that should work on the rear cross tube behind the fuel cell. Or I could mount it to the front bumper so I can bend it on the first rock I encounter but it'd look cool mall crawlin

Last thing for tonight. I wanted some aluminum CJ high lines but nobody makes any. Couldn't find any for a YJ either. So I took some measurements from a TJ at a local 4wd place and decided to say f$&@ it. I ordered a pair of GenRight aluminum high lines to match the rear and get rid of my bent and cracked fenders. Not very happy about dropping this kind of coin on something that probably won't work.

Nice build so far. You can set the size of your pics somewhere in your cameras settings or you can easily resize them in paint or paintdotnet. That should help you with the trouble you keep having with pics not loading due to file size being to large.

My goal is to get the front fenders and hood done this weekend so it can get to paint. Any suggestions on color? My first thoughts are eithe a gun metal grey, not quite as dark as Hendrix wheels or a burnt orange that is a little lighter. Like a cross between a orange and a copper.

I am more of a monotone guy. I plan on having the cage silver to match the links. That may change if I go with the orange/ copper color. The wife is thinking a midnight blue and if momma ain't happy, nobody is happy.

The GR fender come with slotted holes to mount to the tub. Only 1 out of 4 lines up. I'll have to drill more but it's hanging. Had to remove part of the drip rail on the tub to move the fender high enough to line up at the bottom. Also had to trim the front of the Poison Spyder slider to fit around the flare. The CJ grill is more narrow than a TJ, so the fenders will taper in some. That will leave a gap so ill probably trim the slider flush w the front of the tub.

The welds on this thing are unreal. Absolute work of art and supper light. Not crazy about how much room I have behind the tire. A stock CJ fender would fill that up nice.
The gusset up front will have to be cut down so that I can draw in the fender mounts to the side of the grill

Hood is floppin all around now that it is cut. I took a page from Hendrix and cut the bottom lip of the hood off. Glad I did as it will give some much needs strength back when welded back on.

I ended up cutting the front gusset in half and reshaping it. Then I had to score the mounting tab in order to get it to conform to the shape of the grill. Then I had to drill new holes to bolt to the grill. These bolts really helped suck the fenders into the grill. The TJ fenders are slightly longer but my grill hoop hides it well. I would move the grill out to match but then my hood would be too short.
