I'm staying in VA beach right now. Lots of jeeps down here.

::SELLING HALF OF MY JEEP::

http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f33/?uid=152304

Rear Currie 4" coils - 190 shipped. (They've been sitting in the back of my Jeep for mock up but won't work out for me.)

Hornblasters Shocker S4 horn set with some extras $210 shipped. (It is not OBA, just an accessory for OBA)

"LCOG" isn't cheap and it certainly isn't easy. If you think so, you are doing it wrong. If you aren't willing to put in the effort, don't label your build "LCOG". You are just a cheap ******bag.

Thought i'd update:
  • Rear foglight/3rd brake light bracket broke off. I saved the light but haven't fixed it yet.
  • Hella Rallye 1000 covers snapped off over the winter. One of the Hella 500 covers broke. Running without any covers for now.
  • Picked up a stone chip in one of the Hella 1000's. Such a PITA because i'll never find one of those lenses again without paying through the nose.
  • TPS has been on it's way out for a year now. Misses almost once per drive. Gotta fix it.
  • Bumper Swingarm hinge is always loose. Despite me cleaning, adjusting and painting before the winter. Metal bracket is actually deforming.
  • Hi-Beams don't work. I suspect I damaged my aftermarket harness after washing the engine without covering it up.
  • Sounded like A front u-joint was going out, but then gave it a wash to get the salt out and haven't heard the birds since.
  • Just hit 100,000Km recently.

And how about a few pictures with all this news.

Thread update.

Got into motorcycles and now have a sportbike which is becoming a trackbike.

Almost sold the jeep, but decided to keep it, as I need something to tow my bike to the track.

I did however sell my 33s and Eagle Alloy 187s. Used the cash to buy nice helmets for my dad and sister who also ride.

Thread revival!

I still have my TJ and it's still my daily driver.
Hopefully I can give it some much needed TLC this summer!

Got a good deal on a set of skyjacker shocks from 4wheelparts.ca Replacing my (11 year old) steering stabilizer with a pro-comp unit while I'm at it. Only have the fronts on so far, have been busy!

Very cool how they designed the boxes. Four individual shock boxes arranged properly makes a larger picture.

I've got a HUGE to-do list for the Jeep, and I'll be updating this thread as I go.

Going to be starting with this nasty bit of rust, thanks to a stupid friend and his can of brake cleaner (and now two Canadian winters)

Here's a few shots from the past few years. I've just realized, the Jeep hasn't been photographed much for a long time.

Thread update:

I was able (with some effort) to download the old pictures I had on "cardomain", and re-host them on photobucket. I updated the older posts in this thread.

Here are some additional old pictures from my facebook.

Last summer I made a full-width cargo shelf out of wood. I thought I had build pictures of it, but I wasn't able to find any. I'll have to take some. The idea is to have a full-size, lockable trunk/storage area.
It also makes a great work shelf!

Nothing else is new with the Jeep. I did get a set of new tires in winter 2014. Jeep has almost 150k KM on it now.
It needs some TLC, and some rust repair on the passenger side body. Worst spot is in the body rail on the passenger side. Second worst spot is right by/under the passenger side rear flare.

It's hard to believe i've owned it for eight years now!

I found some pictures of the new tires. It's nice to have a matching spare again.

Small update. Jeep has just over 149k KM on it now.
It's been parked for about a month since I've been driving my BMW E30 after completing an automatic to manual transmission swap

I brought the jeep to a shop for the second time ever, since I've owned it.

I had a small rust hole in front of the passenger rear flare repaired. They cut out the old metal and welded in a new piece. Did a good job with the paint and colormatch considering they're not a bodyshop.

Also, and more importantly, I had them patch the body rail under the passenger side. I'm not pleased with the weld quality, but the rest of the repair is good, and the price was right. Sorry about the poor quality pictures, I'll try to get some better ones with a better camera and lighting.

Oh, and I changed the serpentine belt today. I can't remember when I changed it last, but it looks like it was on it's last legs!

Small update.

My 2nd gear bump/grind (that the jeep has had since I took ownership over 9 years ago) has gotten progressively worse. I assume the first owner liked to shift quickly and put some serious wear on the 2nd gear syncros.

I changed my trans fluid last year as an attempted remedy, but it didn't help very much. I changed it again almost exactly a year later (and less then 6000km) and found a LOT of brass.

To try and squeeze some more life out of this trans before I have to rebuild it, I've started consistently double-clutching into and out of 2nd gear. It definitely helps, I guess I'll see how far I can stretch it.

In other news, I got some new covers for all of my front Hella lights. Makes a big difference to the front end's appearance. I was previously using black soccer socks stretched over the lamps, as all the old stone shields snapped and crumbled over the past 3-4 winters.

I replaced the hardtop's rear window seals (both side and bottom) as I was getting water inside when it rained. Morris 4x4 had the seals I needed and was cheaper then anywhere else. They did the trick, no more water is coming in.

I had the windshield replaced today, as the original one had a vertical crack in it for 2-3 years. It's amazing how clear new glass is! Also, just rolled over 152000km today.

The jeep is still earning it's keep, hauling all manner of things, from an entire BMW roof/sunroof cartridge, to a whole bunch of spare wheels.
Oh, and did I mention I managed to load ~800lbs of dirt (in bags) on my wood cargo shelf? I was expecting it to fail under the load, but it held up great!

More updates.

Had to get a safety inspection done, which revealed the jeep needed some TLC.

So I replaced my LF u-joint, LR drum brake cyl, RR shock, and blower motor resistor. I then passed my subsequent safety inspection

It was my first time replacing a u-joint, but the guide at Stu Olson's website made it easy work. I also couldn't help but clean up all the crusty, rusty parts while I was there.

I've bought some coolant and deionized water from the dealership, so a full coolant flush is up next.
I'm also going to be replacing my passenger side rear drum brake cyl, as it's good to do them in pairs. I'm going to do a full brake system bleed while I'm at it (hopefully my power bleeder works with the Jeep's cap).

For good measure, I'll also be flushing the power steering system as best I can, and greasing all the fittings in the front end.

May 25 / 16

Did a full coolant flush today using Mopar coolant and de-ionized water.
I used "ipleadda2nd"'s guide here:
http://www.wranglerforum.com/f282/ho...rt-122827.html

It was overdue, besides topups, I've never touched the coolant system in my 9 years (and ~70k KM) of ownership. That said, the coolant I drained out didn't look nearly as bad as I expected.

I also replaced my upper rad hose, as it was split and a tiny leak was making a crusty mess.
