$520.87 ZJ build

Got my ZJ almost a month ago for $520.87. It's a 94 with 215k miles. It has had a hard life so it's going to take a lot of work but I'm making some progress.

The day I got it

I did a few small mechanical repairs totaling about $300 right off the bat.

First thing I had to do was get rid of the awful moldy smell. I removed the front carpet and bought some nice leather seats from a 97. I bought some bedliner to paint the floor in but I have not got to that yet. It took a long time to dry when I did the wheels and I don't want to have the jeep out of commission for long.

Then I realized I had some wheels sitting around from my last ZJ, so I painted them up with some bedliner

(no installed pic ATM sorry... forgot to take one)

Somewhere between here and the next step I decided to replace all 4 speakers and install a sub. I went with these speakers http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...pa-652.9i.html
and a 12" Sony sub I got at Walmart. I built a 1 cubic foot air space box out of 3/4" MDF and used a quality 300w RMS amp to power it.

Well now that I had some nice black leather seats, the puke brown dash and doors weren't doing it for me anymore. I decided to do something about it. I got some satin Krylon Fusion "for plastic" paint and tore the dash apart to do it right. I will also be doing the pillars, door sill covers, and all the door panels soon.

That's pretty much where I'm at right now. I am going to be pulling the headliner and wrapping it in Granite colored suedliner brand suede (basically matches the seats perfectly) I will also be doing this to the fabric on the doors when I pull them to make them black.

Hope you guys enjoy. I've got a lot of stuff I still plan to do...

Nice work thus far. Why the weird purchase price amount? What's the story behind that?

I purchased it from a family member and it was just them being silly making a counter offer to my $500 offer

Looks really good. Are you going to paint the bumpers and side molding?

I plan to remove the door plastics and paint the bumpers. The lower plastic rocker panel covers ill paint with bed liner.

Should look good. Did you have any problems painting your dash? I really like the look of that.

It sprayed on very very nicely, the only problem I'm having is it seems like it takes a few days in doors to cure 100%

Ok thanks. May take a shot at it after the rain clears up here.

Installed some lights
