You need to put your skills to work and put this in a jeep ;p
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Rolls-Royc...#ht_500wt_1413
"Expected performance is around 760bhp at 3000rpm, and 1550lb ft at 1500rpm. Weight approximately 600kg. Length 1500mm, Width 760mm, Height 870mm."
You rev that suddenly and you'll destroy your axles and transmission and flip the jeep at the same time.

Are you planning to sit in the back of your YJ.

I can definitely move the motor back an inch or 2 so my refined design motor mounts takes that into account. But I don't want to go back much further because then I am looking at a pretty short driveshaft. My tcase is just about in the stock location right now.

That's my biggest thing, I want to get away without having to do a lift first but the driveshaft might need those few inches that the lift would free up. Hopefully this week we're going to buy a project jeep, it's got 4inch lift springs and an inch body lift which I think is perfect...best part is the 4.0L is about to blow up so it's the perfect project.

I would be able to make the manifold and tig weld it myself and all and even if I was to put the engine where you did I would still do the manifold only to be able to add a bigger turbo later or add in a heat shield to stop the paint from cooking and add some extra room to add a bigger BOV.

I want to build my own manifold as well. If you find a way to make them easily, we will be in business! haha

Also, I forget what trans you said you were using, but it will be tough to get the NV4500 to fit without a body lift, or skidplate drop, you could probably do it, but it will be a pain, and you will have no room to work on anything if you need to. I probably could have fit everything with stock springs and no body lift, but, it is just much easier with at least a body lift. you can see how much clearance I have under the hood from the one photo aken from the side

We're hopefully going to look and buy a project jeep tonight. It's got 4inch suspension lift and an inch body lift. I think I'm gonna go with the NV4500 but I'm not sure yet, I really want a 6 speed overdrive but I'll do with the 5 speed since it's an easy bolt up and can save me money without needing an adapter. I'm undecided on the transfer case, I'm thinking about fallowing you and keeping the stock NP231 and just using an adapter but I all depends on if I find something else that I rather use, maybe a Dana 300 with a SYE. It's only 33s so I dont want to go with anything too much lower in low range.

I dont mind having to do some trimming to get the fit, I've got access to sheet metal and if I'm replacing rusted panles I might as well make a trans tunnle as well but since it has that body lift, I'm not worried about it.

Are you going to patent them if you havent already? Awesome about the ebay page! I think you have definitely created a product that people in the Jeep community want.

Sounds good and looks good. I didnt get to pick up the new project last night so hopefully in the next week I will and when I get that I'll place an order.

But I wouldnt put a patent on it...I went through it already and it's a waste of time for something like this. They cost alot of money, we had about $2k into it and we didnt even make any money because we couldnt sell the patent we made then.

But any NEW parts for YJs are good, whether everyone uses them or not...it's an option and YJs are the best, their the first and last of the real wranglers if you ask me.

Check around online, there's a few places that sell them. LKQ is one of my favorites and they have them for upwards of $2000, youngjeeper bought one for $1800. For me the local junk yard has the best price, $150 any motor...any. But they are mostly agricultural but mostly used in box trucks and frito lays trucks with a few other industrial/agricultural things.

craigslist and junkyards is the only place you will find one cheap as far as I know. I got mine off ebay, and 1800 was a steal, you really have to search to find a deal because most people are aware of their value.

You should really try to find one out of a box truck because it should have all the "automotive" hookups and accessories on it, one from an industrial application will have some different stuff on it, there are a few different versions of the 4bt and I am still unclear about all the differences, most people use the ones found in box trucks like Spuznick said

For you guys looking for a 4bt.
http://www.allofcraigs.com/2009/08/s...tive&sa=Search
I think that link would work.
A global craigslist search for 4bt
If not just search allofcraigs.com
A guy in Philly by me has a bunch of them and all have damage.
Guess whoever he works for just pulls engines when they have something minor break and then he takes them.

Sweet link! That'll be handy.

But best bet is to get them out of a box truck, they have all the accessories and depending on the application, will have a usuable transmission. I'm shooting to get one out of a box truck as soon as one comes in to a local yard and I get a break to work on a personal project.
