Updates!


Well I finished working at the bank and made sure I had a few days off before starting the new job. Took this time to work on the jeep a little.

First I adjusted my new (to me) half doors so they shut properly.

I also installed some Teraflex Shocks on all four corners, some rear axle end shock relocation brackets from TeraFlex. So I stop smashing shocks on my coil perches. I also installed a new Teraflex steering stabilizer.

Here is an example of the relocation brackets. Not my jeep.

I also needed to shorten my driveshaft and throw on a 1330 conversion joint on the front for the new axle.

So for the first time in 6 months, I put the jeep in 4lo! It's like a new jeep. Love it.

Good work. I need some of those shock relocation brackets. Where'd ya buy them? Get a good deal?

I should be going down some time I'm sure or I can make it down for just your trip. I don't live far so it could even be a day trip for me.

Speaking of Moab. Decided instead of renting a trailer I would just buy a tow bar for jeep safari. So I'll be towing the LJ with my wife's WK

Nothing wrong with flat towing , though it has its quirks . If you decide to come down in June we will be there the 1st week .

What had you decided on 4.88s with the 37s? I also have the 42rle and am looking into a regear.

Are u running 37s? Lots of trail time or mainly weekend warrior?

If on 37s and it's mainly a trail rig or you have lots of hills I'd gear it lower.

If it's a DD that sees only little trail use, then 4.88 is good.

I kinda wish I would have gone lower. But I made the plans for 4.88 because I was planning on keeping the d30. Didn't think it through when I got the d44 ha ha. Don't get me wrong. It is a nice gearing for driving around and I don't feel like I'm lacking on the trail. We just have hills and mountains here and that's when I feel like I need something extra.

It's my DD. We have lots of hills and mountains here and my 3.73 and 33s suck haha. I'm only looking at 35s though not 37s.
