2wd WK build
Yes, 2wd sucks, blah blah blah etc etc.
Anyway, my Rock Krawler "3.5 inch" lift came in today(but it's actually 3.5" up front and 2" in the rear), along with my OME rear shocks. I should have it all installed with a how to for the WK guys over this weekend, I can't wait! Next on the agenda: 33"s and spacers to accommodate them, should be ordering them by the end of next week ![]() ![]() The jeep when I got it(stock): ![]() I've since added 35% tint on the front side windshields and a mopar snowboard/ski rack, which will be in the new pics.

Interested on how its going to look... What kind of tires are you looking towards... I think Nitto Terra Grapplers would look pretty good, and would give you a good tread wear.... And decant off road, as long as you stay away from mud

285/70/17 BFG ATs, which are technically 32.7", and some Cragar Soft 8s.

Got the front of the RK lift installed today. Install time was about 2 hours for the first side because we didn't really know what we were doing at first. Second side took my little brother and I one hour. We started working on the rear but couldn't get the axle to drop down. We only had one jack and I think both sides need to be up at the same time, and we had no jack stands.
Here are my measurements for the front: Stock: 32.75" on both sides Stock clearance in the center of front axles: Unknown After RK lift(front only): 36.50" on both sides RK lift clearance in the center of front axles: 13" That's a 3.75" gain up front with just the RK forks. Braking behaves the same, no nose diving or abnormal behavior. The steering feels the same, just a tad more body roll if I swerve, nothing severe but worth noting. I also tossed on my OME N190 shocks since they take about 5 minutes per side to do. It sits .25" higher in the rear with just the shocks changed out. I will measure the difference once I get my RK spacers in the rear. I also removed all my badging and added my jeepforum sticker to my rear window, I should have pics of that tomorrow when it's light out. Anyway, pics! Keep in mind only the front is installed(plus OME shocks in the rear). I gotta get used to being this high off the ground, coming from a lowered Mustang, this is a huge change but I like it! Camera is about 18" off the deck: ![]() Camera is about 18" off the deck: ![]() Camera is about 4'(48") off the deck: ![]() |

O okay, I wasn't sure if you would need one or not, its a completely different breed lol
But one question... Why not just go with 33's instead of the 285? BTW, your going to love the BFG AT's im on my second set... and as long as you don't get in sticky mud you will do fine...

Finished the lift today, I've got tons of pics to make a how-to, but it'll take me awhile to do it. I was able to do everything by myself with the help of 4 jack stands and 2 jacks. I'm sure it could be done with less but I wanted to be ultra safe =)
I measured my lift front and back again before I got it aligned, and I forgot to do it after the alignment(I think the front has raised a bit since my front tires were waaaay slanted after the lift). Keep in mind I have rear OME HD shocks(N190 part #) in addition to the RK lift. Front(both): 35 3/8" (was 32 3/4" stock) Rear Left: 35 1/4" (was 33 1/4" stock) Rear Right: 35 3/8" (was 33 1/4" stock) I measured from ground through the center of the wheel to the lowest portion of the wheel well on the outside(the way most people here measure). Now for the pics: Just starting out on the rear, only the tires off. ![]() PITA upper control arm behind the coil, so very very annoying to get back there and unbolt it on the drivers side. Passenger side was a cake walk. ![]() Everything disconnected on the passenger side except the LCAs(I left them on through the whole thing). Notice my ultra safety, lol! ![]() All done! That driver's side UCA was a ***** to get back in, as was the sway bar on the passenger side. Both would have been much easier with two people, oh well. ![]() I went outside to go take some pictures, and what do I find? Snow! blah! My parents wanted to take me out to dinner to celebrate me getting my enlistment date(March 2), so no cool snow pics. Unfortunately all 2" of the snow will be gone tomorrow. Also featured in this pic are the obvious JF sticker, completely debadged, snowboard rack, and my 35% tinted front windows(which you can't really see) ![]() Next up: 285/70/17 BFG A/Ts!
