2k3 Pat. Blue - Low Output, Mild Build

This past weekend I flew from FL to MD to pick up the new addition to the family - a 2003 Patriot Blue Jeep Wrangler SE, 5 speed, w/ 60k original miles. My Dad bought the Jeep new in 2003 and has primarily been using it to get through the snowfall during winter as well as mild beach rides during the summer. He had been planning to sell it to a third party, but when I brought up the idea of buying it from him I think he was happy that it would stay in the family and only wanted $6,000 for it.

The 760 mile drive back from Maryland wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. In it's stock form I came to realize the TJ's have great on road manners. Much better than my JK, although the interior and soft ride of the 4dr JK still makes for a much comfortable long drive.

So anyway, the build is pretty mild, so I'm going to have it done pretty quickly. Right now I have 5 31x10.50 Firestone Destination M/T's ordered to be mounted on the stock rims as well as the Rough Country 2.5" lift & RC HD SS (thanks to Jeffery @ RC for the great deal and quick shipping!). Other important mods that I will be doing, but have not decided on which product to go with include, bumpers, skids, recovery, and any driveline/suspension upgrades I think might be necessary after the lift and tires are installed. Small, mostly cosmetic, mods that will be getting done in the near future include Wet Okole seat covers, stereo upgrades, light bar, etc.

A few pics I took after I finished my drive back to FL:

Also, I want to thank everyone in the TJ section for all of the really great advice and information you gave me in the past two weeks, it is much appreciated!

Nice lookin little jeep man. I'd remove the front bumper ends and perhaps cut the bumper to stubby length. It will look much better.

I was actually planning on doing that this week. Was looking at the bumper earlier today with the wife and we both thought it'd look better w/o the dorky looking end caps.
