Hello all, I will start by introducing my Jeep known as "Black Betty" as it sits now vs. as it sat the day I got it.
Please note that the stock picture is just a pic I found online as I do not have a pic from the day I got her before I put the tires on. (I wish I did but it must have been lost in the countless phone changes I have done since then
Now this is gonna take me some time to retrace my steps and jog my memory but I am going to try to do my best to walk you guys through the entire build from day one in September of 2009. I may not have pics of every step, but I will still discuss it and show as much as I can.
First things first, no doors and no top for the first time ever!
Now this jeep was bought used with 18k miles on it. It was bone stock the day I got it. The first thing I did was go out and buy her some new shoes. I bought a set of 33" BFGoodrich KM2's with some 18" RBP 93r rims with chrome inserts. I know, CHROME?!?! What was I thinkin?
After getting the shoes on, I installed a rugged ridge light bar with 5 7" fog lights on top. I had been seeing many jeeps online with lights and immediately fell in love with the idea of being lit up at night! Who would have thought I would take it to the level it is now
I also quickly learned about the idea of putting a new front bumper on her. What came with the bumper? More lights!!!! So I bought a Rock Hard 4x4 front bumper with two more 7" Rugged Ridge fogs and a Superwinch LP10000. I also bought some D-Rings for the bumper and some smoked out headlamp covers. The blue grill insert is a home made insert that I did using expandable metal from home depot, some zip ties, and some spray paint! There are threads all over the place that discuss how to do this.
Yup, that me getting pulled off of the obstacle course at the 2010 All Breeds Jeep Show in York, PA! This is the moment I learned I needed a lift kit....
