2006 Golden Eagle "Beagle" LCG Build

I figured it was about time that I started my build thread. So here are the beginning stages of my LCG build. I will leave out the pointless, "here is me inserting a spring" photo's. I will take step by step photo’s of any fab work that I do myself.

I got this Jeep as a DD and a toy. It’s a 2006 Golden Eagle aka “the beagle” (my kids nickname for it).

I am new to the Jeep thing….so bare with me.

I researched and researched and researched LCG builds and have decided this is the direction that best fits me.

A couple of months ago I purchased the 3.75in lift from Rough Country (2.5 SL and 1.5 BL).

Once I purchased the lift, I started gathering parts for lockers and Re-gear. The box's started to pile up. (Lockright Locker, 4.56's, wheel spacers, Disco's, etc).

My last purchase before getting the build process started was tires. I decided to go with ProComp Xtreme Mt's (33x12.50x15).

The RC lift took a full day to install and get right. BL's are a pain and I was not a fan on TC drops, but for the time being it is on.

Once the lift was on, tires mounted/balanced and alignment was done, I sent the Jeep out to have the new gears installed and the lockright locker put in place up front. I got my Jeep back in just over 24rs.

Here is with everythring installed.

Around a week later I took it out for a test. I am very happy with the lift all together. The ride is better than stock and it handles very well.

A couple of weeks ago I took my wife out for some trail ridding and to test out things a little more.

I am ready for my next stage of mods now. I have almost everything sitting in my basement. I have a Cobra CB, Hi-lift Jack with custom mounting brackets, Mounting extension for spare tire, Poison Syder Rock Sliders, Xenon 4in Flat Fenders, ProComp Rear Bumper w/drings, SYE, TW drive shaft, used Harbor Freight Winch (9,000lb)

I plan to mod everything but the flat fenders. I am going to wait to install them when I get 35's. I also plan on Vanco Brake system, Upgraded steering, Walker Evans wheels w/ beedlocks. However, this could all change.

At this point I am gearing up for a 4,000 mile round trip to head out to Moab in March for EJS. That means more armor may come into play real quick.

Thanks for viewing....more to come! CB install is today!

looks good. you should look into a budget motor mount lift so you can raise your transfer case skid back up

One of the few golden eagles I really like. What body color is that? The JP is looking real good.

It is called "Deep Beryl Pearl Green", I just say Green. The dark Green Eagles I think look the best...glad I found one!

Also, Thanks for the kind words! Work in progress.

Ok, so it was a beautiful day and I had some extra time. I pulled out the Hi-lift jack, dusted it of, and installed it. I used 2 1/2 exhaust clamps..some washers and blam...it's installed!

So after I finished the hi-lift jack, I decided I would install my Cobra CB.

Right about the time I finished the CB, my favorite person showed up...the "UPS Guy".

Here is what he brought me! My new JKS Disco's...looks Like Saturday morning I will have another project.

The Xenon's are going on when I get my 35's. I know what I want, but I think I am going to run the peepee out these 33's first.
