Brother sold his Land Rover last week, this equals a free Smittybilt XRC8 winch for me. Been working on getting it fixed. The cable is tangled and has kinks in it so it will need to be replaced. Also had issues with it spooling, so they sent a replacement solenoid. While all of this is all apart planning on cleaning it up real good, sealing the solenoid box up water tight, and may throw a fresh coat of paint on it.

Paint is finished. Plan to get it installed here soon.

Sanded then hit it with some high temp gloss black.

Sanded the bolt heads down with 200 grit, then 600. After this I hit them with some clear. Should look nice without being flashy.

Ordered my Savvy gas tank skid today! WOOT!

Can't wait to get in in and installed.

Planning on scuffing it up, priming it, then painting it black. Don't care for the bling on my all black rig.

Thoughts?

Got one rocker sanded, cleaned, and primped.

The Jeep made an impromptu trip to the shop yesterday. Water pump took a crap. Fun.

Got the rockers installed today, only uploaded these 2 pics real quick.

Install wasn't too bad, had 2 friends helping, used jacks, wood, and jack stands. Used a 1" bimetal hole saw I picked up from Lowes for around $15, well worth it. Was able to get holes cut on the inside to get to the last fasters on each side.

Also trimmed the flares since they are wheel well to wheel well. Plan to go back with some silicone to create a nice seal.

In this pic you will notice the existing rocker damage I addressed before the install.

Finished

Savvy GTS came in today, not going to put it on right away. Going to paint it black first.

Before this install I want to get a 1" BL and 1" M.O.R.E. MML. This will let me run the GTS at the higher clearance setting.

Unpackaged the Savvy GTS:

Got it sanded, prepped, and it's first coat of primer tonight:

Hoping to get it in paint this week some time. Then order a 1" M.O.R.E. body lift, and M.O.R.E. raised 1" motor mounts this week...

BL and MML is on the way, should be here next week.

Installed a new fan clutch today. Jeep was getting hot in traffic. AutoZone near me had a heavy duty in stock, but had them order a severe duty from the hub yesterday. Install was straight forward, took about 15 minutes. Let the Jeep idle in the garage with the AC on high for about 20 minutes today, temp went just over 210. I am pleased.

Test drove the Jeep tonight to see how the new fan clutch is working out. Sitting in stop and go traffic for 10-15 minutes it got about a needle width past 210. When driving it was around a needle width below 210 many times. So seems to be sorted out. Quite happy.

1" M.O.R.E. body lift and engine mounts came in last week:

Been spraying everything with PB blaster over the past few days, hoping to get around to the install next weekend. Planning to do the BL, MML, and gas tank skid all in one day!
