I bought a black 2004 Sahara this week.

What it has:
82k miles.
31" Falken Rocky Mountain A/T tires on factory Jeep rims.
1" body lift.
Chrome bumpers and steps.
Fog lights.
Everything else appears to be stock.

Issues:
It does not have carpet.
Tailgate is banged up.
Third tail light wiring is not hooked up.
Smaller spare tire.
Cruise control not working.
A/C issues.
Battery terminals are kinda jacked up.
Some dash pieces are broken/loose.
A couple small holes in left rear corner of the soft top.
Seats are dirty and have a few holes.
Broken shifter boot bezel.
Broken A/C fan knob.

I'll be switching some parts around from my 2001 4 cyl. Then selling the 2001 and using funds to add lift, tires, etc. to the Sahara.

More to follow. First day pic and how she sits currently (08-15-15)

All A/C and cruise control issues resolved (Vacuum hoses).

Shift boot bezel replaced.

Rear tire carrier assembly removed.

Update:

Stripped interior for cleaning and sanding. Should have my Raptor liner sprayed in this weekend.

Pulled the oval, metal drain plugs in the floorboards.

Received TrekArmor para cord grab handles.

Received 1.5" seat risers.

Received and installed Body Armor front winch bumper.

Received and installed 4" Zone suspension lift. Added Zone steering stabilizer and JKS adj. front track bar. Had a local shop do the install.

Ran into a snag with the PO's 2" body lift. For now, I have no 4wd, no 2nd gear, and I have to hold it in reverse. I plan to have the shop add a new rear driveshaft and SYE asap (hopefully Tomorrow night). Should fix my shifter and driveline issues.

Plan to order 33s and rims today. May hold off on regearing.

Looking at ordering stereo, subwoofer, Tuffy box, and winch this weekend.

Raptor liner is in. Three nice coats and still have a bottle left over! Reinstalling seats and treating some surface rust areas on the frame tomorrow.

Quick progress and clean Jeep!

What are your thoughts on the Raptor liner? Seem like it will hold up over time? Something along those lines will be on my list soon...

I put it on the 2001 4 cylinder I had about a year ago. It has held up just fine. That jeep was sold to a friend of mine recently. One of the best things I did to that jeep and one of the first things I wanted done to this one.

The liner on both jeeps have gotten many compliments.

Rear driveshaft and SYE installed. T case drop was removed. This fixed my shifting issues, but I have very noticeable vibrations. Sigh. Guess I'l be looking at dumping more money to try to figure it out instead of additional upgrades.

Installing under driver's seat Tuffy box today before work.

Still planning on the following when money allows:
Drop down tailgate
Rear bumper and tire carrier
Step bars

Still haven't got the vibes worked out, but I did get the Tuffy box installed. Also have my 33" tires and rims on.

Moving along.

Warn winch is installed.

Sold my old Trail Gear front bumper.

Picked up a hitch mounted cargo carrier at a yard sale for $20. Should come in handy once I give it a new coat of paint.

Have an appointment for all new brakes and looking into a clutch issue.

New brakes are on.

Removed rear driveshaft and vibes went away. Looks like I'll be dropping the T case a bit till I can afford adjustable control arms and get the pinion angle dialed in just right.

Looking to get clutch work soon too.

Seems like more and more problems keep popping up.

I'll be doing a little rewiring this week. PO had some jacked up things going on with the battery and terminal connectors.

Garage
might also consider a 1" MML if not already installed. Might help with the vibs over lowing the transfercase as much. Good and clean looking 04

When money allows, I think I may trade out the 2" BL for a 1"BL and 1" MML. That, plus a set of adjustable control arms should rid me of any vibes.

Got the first coat of spray-on bedliner on the cargo shelf today. I think it's gonna look pretty good.

Reinstalled the factory fog lights in the outer mount holes of the front bumper. I hope to rewire them when I get the battery cables cleaned up. I plan to mount a toggle switch on the switch plate in the dash along with one for some KC spotlights (when I get them) like my old Jeep had on windshield mounts.
