For those who don't know, my TJ was stolen from me at work at the beginning of December. After a long 3 weeks of mourning and insurance paperwork. I received this 01 tj for Christmas along with locking full doors and a hard top. (Hence "the safe")
I made sure when picking a new Jeep out, it had to have a dana 44 and full doors so it could save money for me down the road. It came with 35's and a 3" Teraflex lift with rancho shocks.
Then proceeded to a well needed Waffle House run. Stock Jeep pulled up next to me, it was destined.
The jeep came without a sway bar on it so we did a small flex before going home to install a stock sway bar.
As well as the jeep for Christmas, I also received a smittybilt swing out tire carrier and CJ tailgate. Here are some pictures.. The swing out part of the bumper is on back order, Should get it in sometime this week. I'm installing the bumper tomorrow. I'm waiting to paint the tailgate to match the jeep and buy the brackets and everything for the conversion.
The PO put a see and cv shaft in it but left the transfer case drop in it so along with installing the bumper tomorrow I'll be taking that out to gain a couple of inches of clearance. This wednesday is the annual Christmas trip to Gulches so I'm trying to get everything prepared for then.
Here is the front bumper, the PO cut it and welded caps on it which looks ok for now, has a little ding in it.
I also plan on replacing the fender flares with stock flares that are not trimmed. I think it will look a lot better. I have to make a huge junk yard run soon for small things like shift boot, back seat brackets, a/c knob, dome light cover etc.
What happend with the insurance company...how much did u get towards a new jeep? did they include all your mods in the price?
Since my jeep was a Christmas present, my dad refuses to tell me how much insurance gave me. I did do all my research and sent a list of all my parts added to it with prices and receipts along with before and after pictures.(Thanks to jeep forum) The claim agent did say that was very useful and did improve the price by a significant value. I can give an educated guess of around 7-8 k.
But it doesn't bother me. I'm just looking forward and I'm appreciative to have another jeep.

I had to break into my Jeep one time (when I still had a hard top and full doors) when I locked my keys in it. I found out I could pop the rear glass over the tailgate with ease and crawl right in. Mine wasn't very "safe".
Glad to see you getting right to work on your new rig.
Thanks guys, I started work on putting the rear bumper on with my buddy tthomp93, LETS just say dropping the gas tank wasn't a smart idea.. It took twice as long in the end to bolt it back in. I'll have pictures up tomorrow when it's light.
Here is a ****ty cell picture of the rear bumper on. It's all I could get today.
Since the Jeep has a cv shaft and sye, I didn't see why it still had the transfer case drop on it. So today my brother and I took it out, drove it about 20 feet, looked at each other, put it in reverse and installed it again. I need to go to carolina driveline and get it lengthened and the pinion angle adjusted before I even think about touching it again.
Just got back from gulches with my brother and a couple of friends. The jeep out performed and I had a blast. Here are the pictures from my phone and I'm uploading a video taken from the go pro of my jeep popping a wheelie.
My brother would be the first one stuck. Cherokees...
