2 Door XJ Build!

As the title says guys..This is my 1996 2door XJ! It's obviously 4wd (Part-Time) and I believe the only option it owns is the fact it's an automatic. Who says all manual isn't sexy? Anywho, I have a front ARB bumper installed on it currently. It's got a built in guard for the front; real stout mfer.

At this time I still had the factory bumper. Upon removing..I found out it's not really a real bumper but feels more like a bumper cover if that makes any sense...It's definitely not made out of steel; probably aluminum. But anyways, I made a home made bumper out of some scrap steel pipes and a completely ****ed up wrangler bumper (2001). I wish I had pictures of the process but unfortunately I only have the end result. It's not finished being painted yet.

What I did to make the bumper:
I took measurements of where the "Cylinder" piece bumper would be at on the standard wrangler bumper for 2001. It was incredibly in the way of my hatch. I then determined I had to extend the width of the bumper. The bolt holes in no way match up, however, if you extend the physical bumper, you can also move the bolt holes around. I cut the whole middle part of the bumper off because it was warped from towing a tractor. I then preceded to look around at the scrap metal in the shop until I found something bumper worthy. I found an almost half inch thick steel pipe of about 15 ft long. I cut 2 pieces out of it, I have the top piece of pipe going into both sides of the wrangler bumper for support and strength, the bottom piece of pipe added structural strength but also added a better look (it doesn't quite go into the sides). It's not completely done; it's not painted and could use some more grinding/adding. I thought it was pretty unique though.

But all in all, the jeep is literally stock except for a transmission rebuild/after market cooler. No fender cut at all. I have 33x12.5s on this jeep with no rub. I'm kind of wanting to cut the fenders though for trails to get more flex without touching the fenders as I'm having issues. I was wondering if anyone had some good ideas. Also, I need to do floor pans sometime! post all ideas!

Thanks! I think they're pretty cool. Definitely easier to cut up without that back door on the 4 doors in the way. In all honesty though, I think if rather have a 4 door! I do like the extra length on the front doors though.

My plans within the next 2 to 3 months is to totally rip the headliner out, rip all the carpet out, then patch or replace any rusty floors I may have. Once that's done I want to do some sort of liner. And I may or may not reinstall the carpet. I already don't have heat so I hope the liner insalates enough. I also might tackle my sound system this upcoming spring too. I have full power on my passenger side and no power on driver. 2 speakers up front and 2 on the roof in the back. It's already wired for an amp/sub. I don't want anything stupid loud, just good in-cab quality. Also thinking about removing some plastics! Let me know if any of you guys have knowledge tackling this.
