1999 Wj

Pic was taken April 5th, what it looks like after work.

Its a 1999 Grand Cherokee Laredo.
White over grey cladding, Dark Slate cloth interior
4.0 engine, with 242 Selec-trac transfer case.
113k miles on the clock when I picked her up.

The to-do list... Everything done has been bolded.

Replacing 4 front 194 bulbs with LED.
Replacing front 3157 with silverstar halogen amber.

Ordering newer style clear oem headlights. ... ended up making a deal with another forum member for some HID projector conversions.
Hella micro FF or micro DE (still deciding) driving lights under bumperactually went with amber fog pattern ff200's
Ordering OEM tow hook kit.
New XM radio to be installed, service moved from the unit in the cherokee.

Replacing interior dome lights with LED boards.Went with side firing 194's in the front, and high flux 202's in the rear... perfect fit.
Moving Nextel hard install/booster kit from cherokee, installing cradle on dash, main unit under left rear seat, wilson on-glass antenna on left rear quarter window.
Moving Icom IC-208h dual band ham radio from cherokee, installing unit under right rear seat, with control head installed on dash, and mic junction box installed somewhere discreetly up front.
Temporarily using magnetic mount antenna for dual band radio.Antenna package has been installed, view further down page.
Affixing www.jeepforum.com decal to rear bumper

So... my list is done.

All the loan papers are in, i have my bus ticket up, packing the essensials like my ipod, the adaptor, etc.
Ordered a set of Hella Micro FF driving lights... being shipped to my parents house in El Paso
Ordered a pair of Mopar Silverstar headlights for the low beams, will pick them up in Albuquerque after i get the WJ to my house up there...

Ordered some reflective and non reflective graphics for my call letters for the tailgate and rear quarter windows.

Need to pick up my jeepforum.com decal from my house.
Have my new bumper sticker on a magnetic backing for the hatch...

Next week after i get the cash for my old jeep (selling it to a friend, so it'll have a good home) I need to order a push bumper (probably going with a WAAG front runner) and some seat covers (probably wet okle)

Seriously contemplating LED brake lights, and adding a second brake light set to the rear fog sockets (seeing as how they're just empty sockets in the US version)

I ordered my 4x 194 amber leds for the front.

Have an appointment on wednesday to get a NMO mount drilled in the roof for the ham antenna.
Ordered a new lower profile whip for said ham antenna.

And just two more days till i pick her up.

Ordered 2002 Laredo headlights (clear lowers, black interiors)
Ordered seat covers.
Installed new XM head.

Had a last minute early morning contract fixing a secure wifi access point for a construction company, so took advantage of the fact I got to play on private land for a bit.
So officially the first wheeling trip with me as owner.

i'm still trying to decide if i like them or not. They're purely cosmetic, so its not like they're hurting anything.

The tribal pinstriping on the other hand... is FUGLY, and as soon as i aquire a hairdrier and some goo-gone, its so.. gone.

Won a pair of Hella Freeform fog lights on ebay, will probably mount them in the OEM position if I can figure out how to fit them decently.

Seriously considering a WAAG Front Runner

As my front end protection.

Ordered Mopar Tow Hook kit.
Taking off the front liscense plate bracket, as its not needed in NM, sending it to a fellow jeeper.

XM Radio install.
I dont have it there anymore, that was just a quick hookup so I had music on my 7 hour trip home.
Now its behind the steering wheel behind the wiper controls, with the wires behind the dash trim.
Its an Delfi XpressRC.
Its a big step up from the original Xpress I had in the cherokee.
Right now, it has a cassette adaptor, but i'm putting a direct install kit in that hooks to the am/fm antenna wire as soon as best buy has them in stock again.

What is it about white Jeeps that always look so good? I used to dream about owning a white Comanche years ago. No other color, just white.

Looking GOOD!

do you know how long it took me to find one JUST the way i wanted?

4.0/242/cloth interior.

I was at the point i didnt care about color... but the fact its white, made it that much better.
As i've noticed on my cherokee, white hides scratches very well.

Decals with my call sign:

Installed the XM in a better spot

Temporarily used a windshield mount for the Dual Band radio control head

Speaker for the ham radio

Center antenna is for a the dual band ham radio. Antenna on the right rear corner is a VHF antenna that connects to my portable.

Power outlets and the mic junction box from the dual bander

BTW. For lettering and decals, I highly recommend www.diylettering.com This was my 3rd order from them, and they always come out great, and ship fast.
