i got my jeep at the begging of last summer, a present from my two wonderful grandparents. the jeep is a 97 4.0 was stock then i rebuilt the tranny after blowing it up going through deep water for a auto. this is my first jeep and the only one i will ever need. towards the end of my senior school year, i left school to go buy parts, then head back to auto shop class to install them until a cop cut through the intersection. then i slamed into the rear end of a ford bronco.
my jeep was previously owned by some Hispanic guy. he had a gehto wiring system, poorly painted fender flair "i took them off", and a car alarm system with no remote. me being me i had to explore my jeeps capabilities, i was rock crawling in miami. don't ask where pls i know miami isn't full of rocks or mountains. also i put the jeep through a lot of mud. i blew up a heater core fixed by a shot gun sell i found out on the trail, its still there. also two weeks latter i blew up the radiator on the way to work, replaced it, three weeks later i crashed the bronco.
the mud hole in stuck in, is known as the forman hole in homestead fl. the place is also known as the hump.
after the cop was pulling to side as i smashed the bronco and sent him three car lengths he took off and stopped at the next red light instead of taking it. so he wasn't on duty, and i didn't get a ticket when another cop came because the previous cop called it in as it happened when he was turning. thank god my buddy and i were wearing seat belts other wise i would not be writing up this build thxs mom for the lesson of seat belts !!!!
drift to death tried to help me winch that out, it doesn't work like that, iv come to learn. so i stopped trying. but thank's to drift to death though, he found some guy up in jupiter fl with a 05 tj x. he was parting it out and i gave him a call. he was willing to work out a deal with me given the circumstances i had, i sold my banshee chassis i had, and an enclosed trailer my father had given me. got the money and the motor strapped on the trailer and headed up on a sunday evening around 7 we left, when we got there the jeep was still pretty much complete, and i got to work on the tear down, mind you i had finals the next day. but for a 05 chassis with a fabtech 6" lift, it was worth it. i also got poison oak that same night. then i strapped it down on the trailer and pulled it home in that vw.
