1995 Rio Grande LT1 Conversion

Got some great build ideas from the forum. Thought I'd post a few photos of my build. After 215k miles on my trusty 2.5 I found a 5.7L LT1 from a totaled municipal squad with 66k miles. Picked up the motor along with a 4L60E and started the journey. Here it is coming back to the shop.

Here's a photo of the trans with the Novak adapter. Upgraded to 23 spline, starting to mount the Lokar shifter.

Here's a tip if your YJ is from the Midwest or Northeast. You're gonna break bolts....lots of em'. It doesn't matter if you drench them in liquid wrench or the special concoction you found on the forum. Buy yourself a nice tap and die set and a good cross section of bits. Here are my stubborn skid plate bolts that had to be cut, torched and impacted to finally break loose. Everything gets reset with seize compound going in. It's a pain, but I'm getting used to fighting these. Cheers!
