The year 1995 came from the 3 trucks that are going to make up this build.

The main Jeep is a 1987 MJ. 2.5l, 5 speed, 2wd. This was my back up driver for when my XJ broke, but then the MJ threw a rod towing scrap. It was only running on 3 cylinders anyway.

Engine donor is the blue ram. It's a 1999 1500, 5.9L auto 4x4.

It will be getting the front clip and interior from this 2000 XJ.

This is one build I can't wait for! 38/14.50/17 mtr/ks or km2s?

How much lift? 4.5"? How much cutting?

Probably 38x12.5x15 grooved TSLs to keep the cost down. $300 a tire vs over $400 a tire for MTRs. I just graduated high school so I'm not making boat loads of cash, but working 2 jobs should help.
I picked up a set of 15x7 AR racing wheels for $80 in good shape.

Lift, I'm undecided. Half of me wants to keep it low, the other half wants to go right around 7.5-8".

I've been busy between school and working full time. I'm going to NY this weekend. When I get back, I'm cleaning the garage completely. I did manage to get the engine/trans and axles out of the MJ.
And got the ram parted out and scrapped. The 5.9l is big.

This is my old XJ, which was going to get what the MJ is getting but with a chop top but due to my neighbors complaining and space, I stripped it and scrapped it.
And the second pic is my next build. 64 J200

How high or low you want your rig really depends where you wheel it and how you drive. What made you wanna go with the 5.9?

I'll be wheeling mostly pits and in the pines. Maybe a few trips to rausch a year.
I got the 5.9 because i missed the torque of my CJ. A 5.9 was cheap(I made money on the truck). It should work with most of the 00 XJ electrical stuff. And if I'm going through the trouble of a V8 swap, why not get a 5.9 instead of a 5.2.

I ordered a Grizzly, 5.13s, and a ultimate 88 kit for the rear. I know an 8.8 isnt a true 3/4 ton, but I think itll hold up fine. Especially with chromos. If it doesnt, I'll build a 14 bolt.

I can tell you RC has plenty of rocks and boulders... being jacked up in the air won't aid you in staying planted to the ground. Those 38's are huge.

Just a little update. I haven't done anything since i got the tires. I've been too busy with work. I got the engine sold out of the XJ. My rangers trans took a dump, so I sold it. I'm going to look at an MK tomorrow.
I also got the bellhousing I need, but a dakota came with it.

I should have some updates of the MJ on tuesday. Everything for the rear came in, now I just have to order some diff tools.

I bought the compass. It's an 09 limited 5 speed 2wd. 88k on it: I got it for 11,000 plus tax and stuff. Has heated leather, sunroof, navigation, 18s(prob gonna try to stick some 15s or 16s on it though) all it needs is 2 tires and a tpms sensor. I really like driving it. Now the little time I have off can go towards the MJ, instead of trying I fix the pos truck I had before.

I haven't gotten much done. I've been working on my buddies TJ doing 3/4 tons and 38s. I did manage to get the bed off and raised up to the ceiling.
I also ordered a weld on beadlock kit.
I'm about to order a caliper, torque wrench, and dial indicator for the diff setup. Any recommendations?
