1988 YJ w/ Mopar 360 :) *built a full cage*

Started out as a stocker 88 YJ with the 4.2L engine, 5speed manual, np231, dana 30 front, 35 rear.

Engine was tired so my brother rebuilt the engine for me while I watched and helped where I could (not good with engines). Installed a more aggressive cam and pistons. Installed a Motorcraft carb. and HEI ignition. Ran like a raped ape!

Installed a 3.5" BDS lift kit and slapped on some 33x12.5x15Mud Rovers. Ran it like that for a year or so than the craziness began.

Picked up a set of axles: Dana 44 and Ford 9" out of a 78 F-150. Went threw them and installed 4.56 precision gears R&P, for the front I threw in a Detroit limited slip (tru torc? Its the gears...), for the 9" I put a Detroit locker, 31 spline moser shafts, custom disc brakes, and a Dayton pinion support.

Tore the jeep down to the bare frame. Ground and wire wheeled the rust off the frame and used Chassis Saver paint. Fabricated my own shackle reversal, stretched the front ~2", and also cut out the flimsy C channel in the rear and replaced with box steel.

Installed a Mopar 360 V8 out of a 78' Magnum with a carb, summit block huger headers, TF-727 trans, dana 300 thats flipped and twin sticked.

than I sucked water in the trans so I rebuilt that with a stage 3 B&M shift kit, 2,000rpm stall torque converter.

Later on I blew the engine so rebuilt that for more power Than later on ditched the carb and put a Chevy TBI unit on and a megasquirt computer. I tune it myself and have it control fuel with the air/fuel meter, I can also data log everything which is nice.

I'm not in the process of doing body work, and I just stretched the rear 6" back, installed a Fuel cell, and working on getting a full cage built. I also ran the intake through the firewall into the passenger compartment behind the rear speaker.

how it sits now

Its running so rich because it was about 20*f outside and I have not tuned it to run below 60*f

At silver lake sand dunes in MI summer of 07' I think.

thank you! I'm wanting to go true duals instead of a Y pipe. Mainly to help cut down on the heat issue I have that builds under the hood. The driver side pipe wraps under the oil pan and connects to the passenger side. This is a biig heat source. If I go duel and run it straight back on both sides and install an H pipe, this will clear a lot of that up.

Was out in the garage all yesterday and got a lot of work done on the wiring and re-installation of my MSD box and megasquirt computer.

Also you can see where my intake is routed to

Also I used rustoleum semi gloss black and brushed it on to the firewall to get ride of the yellow.

haha thanks guys.

They pics are huge that is why I just posted a link to my photobucket......didn't feel like going through the hassle of resizing them.

Yes I am going to repaint it. I have a metallic canyon blue that I'll shoot. I'd love to do black but I already bought this paint. If i don't like it, I can use it as a nice base.

I would love to put a true dual exhaust with an X pipe, but I have other more important things to focus on first. I do need to get the exhaust to dump out from under the jeep as you get annoying exhaust drone.

I'll have more pics up of other mods within a few weeks

again, thanks for the compliments!

Was that a digital tach in the space above the glove box. If so where did you get it?
