Sweet deal, Ill check that out in the next few days. I was wondering what that tube was the other day while working in there.

I forgot to mention a few pages back with the track bars...Even in the mud it helps if you can flex more. We don't have a lot of rocks in Alberta but we do have mud, and LOTS of it lol. If your going to be playing in the mud take a look at the Firestone Destination MT's, I have the 31's on mine and with a stock suspension they just fit with flat springs. If you still have any arch left you should be fine but mine rubbed a bit on the bumps and dips in the road before I put the lift in. Here's a couple of pics from the weekend with my local Jeep club show and shine. First one will give you an idea of how they fit just sitting there, The second one is with my sway bar disko'd. I am running a 2" BDS spring lift with 1/2" extended shackles and it rides better now than it did on the stock setup.

Not trying to hijack your thread, just giving you ideas and what it would look like if you did it. BTW...your Jeeps starting to look good.

Edit: You might be able to do a 1" shackle lift and have plenty of room for the 31's as long as your not going too nuts on the trails.

Thanks for the tips, I am considering taking the trac bars out again, especialy after trying to flex it today. I definatly want to get sway bar discos and definatly new springs too. Sweet rig by the way, and thanks for the compliments guys, it feels so good to be running with some big tires!

Hold off on that locker for now...I'm running stock open diffs and have gone through areas that my friends had to winch out of with no problem. Just pick your lines and you will be surprised where it will take you with a good set of tires. Do your tires and shackle lift first then see how it works, add the winch and other stuff after you learn how to run it stock. IMO it's the best way to build a rig. I have heard of a guy up here that bought a Jeep...dumped 15+ grand into it only to roll it taking it off the trailer. Learn how to wheel first then build the Jeep to your style and terrain that you run in as you go.

TY for the compliment btw.
My parents live in Mass as well

So I got the powdercoat colors today, we are going to match the rest of the red paint on the jeep to the rims when they get powdercoated red. So here is the red page. The only one that matches it the traffic red, I want to know what you guys think about it.

Compared to these reds:

I just want to be sure it is close enough before doing it, otherwise I might have to just paint them.

Is the red not the same red as is used in the JP logo? I thought that was close to pure red.
Also, what about the paint for flares? Will that paint limit your color choices?
I'd check with Cyrix, the owner of the #12.

You can use the same paint that you use on the body, just have to add a flex agent to the paint so it don't crack and flake off the plastic.

Yup, we are already prepared for that, my dad has painted many cars so he knows what we are doing.

Also the reason why we are doing the rims first is because we want them powdercoated so they dont get ruined when offroading. Powdercoating is only avalable in certain color shades, well at least from the guy that my dad knows, and unfortunatly he is problably the only way that I am going to aford powdercoating five rims, and then buying four tires and paint, along with the rest of the stuff I need.

So my dad talked to the powdercoat guy again today, apparently he has many many more reds to chose from so in about a week or so I am going out there with the rims and going to pick a color and clear coat for them, Im thinking it is a satin clear coat just like the paint job. Also apparently the guys knows a thing or two about jeeps too, and he likes my build.

:UPDATE: I cleaned out my cowl vent and no water comes in! yay! However I have NO warm heat what-so-ever, Im thinking heater core but Im not sure yet. I just drove it home from my friends house and man was it cold. haha

All I can say is, I love my YJ!

more updates soon im sure

Where can I get a bumper sticker like that?

The build is coming along good. I remember thinking how cool those jeeps were when I was younger and really wanting one. I have my YJ now but not Jurassic style. Post more pics on the painting.

I might be picking up some importaint build goodies this weekend, we will see, I wont say what untill I get them but Im still looking for parts and doing minor work.

On the way to work the other day I noticed my brakes seemed weak so when I got there I opened up the master cylinder and my rear resavior was almost empty so I toped it up and the seemed pretty weak still, I think it is the 32's because the PO had all new brake lines, brake cylinders, and brake pads put on it. Its been storming the past week and is going to for a week still so I cant get anything done. I hate new england weather.

Thanks for all the comments guys, more stuff soon for sure!

Bought a Cobra 19 DX IV Compact CB Radio today, it will surve my purposes fine, I am going to mount it where the ashtray went in my jeep. I ripped the ashtray out the other day because it wouldnt stop sliding out while going down the road and it got annoying. Perfect excuse to go spend some paycheck money!

Im going to install it this weekend along with the right whip antena, ball mount and spring, just like in the movie.

Oh and suposedly my rims are going to be back from powdercoating by next thursday, we will see.

Well the goodies I was talking about either fell through, or I decided against. I almost picked up the sahara seats for 300 bucks for all three and I had a couple of side steps that i was looking at but I let them go, mainly because as of right now I am focusing on getting the rims and tires all set along with the paint job.

It wont stop raining and its really making me mad, I cant get anything done. But I did order my 102" whip antena, spring/ball antena mount and coax cable from radio shack, should be in sometime this week but It doesnt look like the weather is going to clear up till sunday so Ill try and tackle getting the cb all set then.

Also I think I am going to keep my "sport" style roll bars, they are begining to grow on me. So I am going to look for some tan covers for them.

The other nice thing with the sport bars verses the family style is you can get a fast back soft top for it. When I have the $$$ for it that's what I'm replacing mine with. They look bad a$$ on the YJ's.

I want one of those so bad, but i cant find any, where have you seen them for sale?

I went wheeling today basicly for the first time out with my wrangler, I am still getting used to driving a standard offroad so I took it very easy. The only pictures I have are from a mud hole that we stoped at, but we also did some big hill climbs.

Also the first time I got mud inside my jeep. It kind of sucks but Im ok with it, thats half the reason why I bought a wrangler.
