This will be awesome. I want to do this after the '5 is done. Maybe start it on my senior year of HS if all goes well.

I forgot to add that my dad decided to toast the clutch on it for me! (I think it was going anyways). So as of right now its up on jack stands with the whole drivetrain out of it. While Im down there I am wire-wheeling off whatever small amounts of rust are down there and re-coating the bottom with rust preventive/undercoating.

So we will be ordering a clutch kit for it friday. I say "we" because my dad is paying for it

I also threw some real jeep rims on there with allterain tires untill I get the correct Jurassic rims. I have been cleaning it up a bit too. I replaced a couple blown instrument bulbs, although the factory shift light still wont work? oh well.

I'll post some more pictures of the build and better ones of the jeep up in a couple days.

Oh and if anyone is wondering I am not doing an EXACT replica of the JP jeep, because I like the roll bar I am keeping it, so my dad recomended that I change the decals a bit too just so Im not exactly like everyone else out there. So I decided to put "Raptor Security" on the hood. I did a quick mock up: (sorry for changing this jeep image, if the owner is offended pm me)

Yeah I have seen a couple threads about the JP jeep on here, I dont know how long it is going to be untill I get to paint it but I figured that I would start a build thread because no matter what its still a jeep and its still going to be wheeled!

Here's a photoshop job on a JK. It's sped up so you gotta watch to see how he did it, but I think it's a good idea. The Explorer paint job could be used on an XJ...
I like the JP Jeeps but I'm personally not a fan of Spice tops and interiors...my JP Jeep would have to be modified to have more black on it...

I was thinking the same thing about the explorer paint on a XJ, someone should really do a photoshop of that. My buddy owns two explorers, a 97 and 96 we were joking about painting one like the movie.

I am really glad that the guy who made that video used tool as background music, it makes it that much better.

So last night/today I decided that I needed to put some rear speakers in the YJ. I decided to temporarly put some jensen speakers that my buddy gave me in, however I didnt have anything to mount them in.

So after searching around the garage I noticed that we have an awful lot of these lamp/heat lamp assemblys laying around.

I tried to put one in the opening and it fit pretty well. So I unscrewed the bulb socket from the back and cut the cord.

Drilled four holes on the outside, and bent the speaker tabs a little then threw some screws in. I had pre-wired them with some monster cable speaker wire and there it is, a homemade speaker pod for zero dollars!

I am going to fill the holes in the back and around the speakers with some sort of caulking to improve sound quality and so nothing gets in there. Still just temporary but not bad.

I found out that it isnt a bolt that hold the slave in place it is a clip that comes with the clutch kit.

haha thanks, it was just one of those things that I tried and it actually came out pretty good, Im thinking that I might just throw some better speakers in eventually and keep the pods. Id like to put some sort of grill under the screws to protect the speakers too.
