g-off 70: I bought the motor being told it was a 5.3. When went into the computer and tuned out VATS to start it, it showed up as a 4.8. I wanted a 5.3 because you find them everywhere. A low mileage 5.3 can be had for less than $300. I got the motor, tranny, wiring harness, and pcm or $900 shipped from florida. A 6.0 is a little more expensive. I could only find 6.0s for 1500 with just the motor and a 4l80. But now that all the fab is complete I can easily stick a 6.0 in there no problem when I save up the funds. I do plan on pulling out this 4.8 and rebuilding it to make it into a little screamer and stick it in my dad's '61 vette so it will not be going to waste.
gixxerphil: Its gonna stay mine for quite a while now that I got it on the road. Sorry!
