1983 Jeep CJ7 Renegade Budget Barn Burner Build

I picked up a '83 Jeep CJ7 Renegade from an old man's barn (sat there for 20 years) with clean title in Ithaca for under $1k and have decided to put it on the road to drive for the summer. Budget is to spend less than $3k and use mostly original parts also found used or on the cheap from junkyards and swap meets. Basically the end goal is to have a durable CJ7 daily driver for the summer with some awesome patina and true character. Best of all the jeep came with a complete nutmeg original interior which I am also excited to restore.

Only pic I have so far of how it looked when I got it.

Acquired some nutmeg carpet on eBay and CJ-8 forum this weekend! Found a nice looking dash pad as well.

You'd be surprised what a Mr. Clean sponge will do to spiff up an old vinyl dash pad or any other vinyl interior part for that matter. It made the stains and white oxidation on this old nutmeg CJ7 Renegade dash pad I scored on Craigslist relatively non existent. This is almost too nice for this jeep!
