The Cj had its first real trial run today. My dad buried our tractor in mud in the middle of the woods. I managed to get back to him, trees rubbing the sides and top, literally rubbing lol I was going lock to lock around trees. Got back to him and hooked up, and gave it everything I had in 4 lo. Got him out, and literally pulled a solid piece of muck up with him. The tractor weighs 2300 without the loader, and I have no idea what the mud weighed. Nylon strap, no chains. I pulled straight back, through it, he kept sinking in until we got back to harder ground. The mud was up to his axles, and that's where it sat. Pretty cool stuff! A diesel saved a diesel! The tractor is called a Jinma, it's a 3 cyl 24 hp diesel. It's 100% Chinese. We can't ask anything more out of it. It's an amazing tractor. Just make sure to ditch the oil ASAP that comes in them. It's junk. Uses no oil, starts in -25*F (no colder temps to test) no problem, and doesn't miss a beat.
Won't go through 4 feet of mud though, we tried that!
The cj has a pretty bad turning radius, which is due to the stabilizer hitting the front pumpkin and limiting travel to the left. To fix this I slid the shock to give more clearance, but this limited the right travel. I'm not sure if it's the original shock or not, but it is the limiting factor for gaining a lot better turning radius. Any ideas?
