1979 Jeep CJ7 Build Up

Hello everyone. In his thread i going to tell you everthing about my CJ7.Actually its not really a '79 CJ.Doors and the hardtop is from a '86 CJ7.Jeep has a 305 V8 installed with a TH400+Np205.I searched the net and this setup seems to be a strong one.
I have to tell you that building an american vehicle in my country is very diffucult. We don't have junkyards like you have and also i am paying 3 times the catalog price when ordering a part,(except shipping charge) so sometimes we create different solutions to problems. You will see what i am talking about later on.Anyway thats all for now, lets see some pics..

week after i got the Jeep

[/url]

flexing

Jeep had 2.73 gears and 31 inch tires.Swapped to 4.10s and got 33 inch mudzillas from my uncle's jeep(CJ project in the sig.)and they got 35' mudzillas.

Also wanted a little more clearence between fenders and tires.Made this homemade shackles.

BTW those are my stock springs(curved) with 33s.

thats it for now...

Jeep had rust all over the tub and broken places so it was time to frame off. This frame off restoration photos are old .You will see the red CJ5 is a not a CJ7 then. Bodywork was done by a shop near the farm.

the ride was stiff so i changed the thick reinforce springs with the thinner ones. The ride is more comfortable now and you can see the height difference in the pics.

before

after
