1978 Cherokee Build

I'm starting this thread to keep track of my dad's current project, a 1978 Cherokee with a factory 360 4 barrel. This Jeep is basicly a one owner Cherokee with 78,000 miles. The Jeep was in storage since 1986. Listed on Craigslist for $3500-

At one point the Jeep had a crappy re-paint, so we got a good deal on it for $1500. Here it is once we got it off the trailer.

The Cherokee wont run at idle, so the carb is going to be rebuilt, that should be fun...

Got some new Nexen MT's. They are cheap and look good.

Changed the brake rotors, calipers, pads, u-joints, and all of that good stuff on the drivers side, u-joints had to be torched out.

Here is a pic (little blurry) of the factory Levi's interior, and 8 track player.

I love the old 2 door full size Cherokees. Good luck on the build.

Started rebuilding the carb, not coming apart... but it should be apart in a day or two.

New u-joints on passenger side now, no torch required.

Not sure what this peice is called behind the rotor, but it needs to be cleaned up.

1 hour later...

Everything on the passenger side should go back together tonight now.

Just finished polishing the bumper and grille with mothers chrome polish, that stuff works great.

To see how well it worked I put a little bit on a old bumper and rubbed it in, then rubbed it off.

Things that need to be adressed, Carb, exhaust, fuel tank (leaking and full of crap), and plugs+wires.

Old exhaust is barley hanging on.
