I had a hour of play time so I went down and got the body sitting on the frame(I still need to put a small spacer between the frame and body to get it sitting right)and I also monkeyed with the placement of the engine, that is until I saw that I need to take a bit more out of the floor for the trans tunnel.I will be taking some out tomorrow after work and a friend is coming down to give me a hand to get the powertrain sitting where it should so I can fab up the motor mounts.

Well had a friend come over and gave me a hand getting the eng/trans/transfer all setting pretty and lined up.
The only problem is this
I am going to have to find a set of headers or something so it can clear, the other side is fine
I also picked my axles up from being blasted
And when he was blasting he found this
Big old crack, going to have to get that welded up

This is a great project. I am currently doing a ground up on my YJ and have a question 4 u. When you blast the axles how do you keep the sand out? Iam sure i got some in mine and just wondering how to clean them. Keep up the good work.

I am going to go right through the axles before its all said and done, change fluids and flush em out.My last set I had done when I did the gears and lockers there was nothing in there at all so I am really not worried about it.

Builds like this are what keep me coming back for more on this forum. Where most people would see rust people like you see the bigger picture and bring classics back to life. Keep up the good work.

what a day!!! I started pulling the transfer case off so I could flip it and then make the trans mount. When I took the case off it looked weird,After I did some digging(and had a little insight from a friend, thanks bud) we found out the dana 300 is a dana 20!!So he had a Dana 300 that has passed between him and I probably around 10 times so he dropped by so we could bolt them together. Before he got there I found the next problem, the 300 wouldn't bolt to the T-18.So I pulled a TF727 from my pallet rack that came from a old j truck and then found out that the transmission base/pan wouldn't allow me to clock the transfer over to the drivers side.So I am now on the hunt for a passenger side drop Dana 60 from a chevy or a dodge,if anyone local wants a driver drop 60 I am selling mine.Or if you have a pass drop 60 and want to trade get in touch
