1945 Military Jeep

So ive been out of the jeep scene for a while since my jeep got totaled i only had enough money to get a truck so i havent had the chance to get another jeep, but i just went and picked up a 1945 military CJ from my grand parents for FREE

The plans are to make it a drivable machine, i havent decided to go with lowered of lifted yet, what do you guys think??

Now down to the good stuff!

Engine
LT1 out of a 97 Firebird Formula
4l60 out of same car

Dont have any plans for the axles just yet
I can get a 10 bolt Posi-trac with disc brakes???

I am looking for suggestions on all the things you guys would and ideas just anything.

Please give me your opinion
Thanks

PICS UP TOMORROW!

I say make it look all original on the outside with a slight lift and nice tires. I think that would look cool.

Couldn't agree more with this... you're talking about a piece of American history, and an absolute classic car. It's like when Pimp My Ride put a '66 Mustang on 20" spinners. It's not truthful or respectful to the car's history.

I'm not saying Military green with the white ARMY star on the door, although that would be awesome, but at least keep it classy and don't build it in the same way you would a YJ or TJ.

IMHO, of course.

I'll agree, a very nice starting point.

Looks funny with the big tires on the back and small ones on the front.
